Tagged by @optiwashere for a writing game: Post the last line that you wrote and tag someone for every word in the line.
Thank you for the tag! The line is:
The shadows cannot touch her.
To me, known connoisseur of endless compound sentences and em dashes and semicolon monstrosities, this feels like the shortest sentence I've ever written. Wow. The one immediately preceding it isn't even that bad, either:
Isobel, with not one but two mournful mothers embracing her and whispering in her ear, steps forward.
This is all from me sporadically poking at my big messy document containing a BG3 AU in which Isobel takes a slightly different turn when escaping post-resurrection and ends up essentially short-circuiting much of what makes up Act 2 of the game. A rather long and involved thing that might see the light of day, one day, but that I love rolling around in my mind in any case. Also, it has Squire in it.
But I'm sticking to the original word count of 5, so tagging @jeejyboard @ontoilogical @docholligay @skatehepburn @beyoncesfiancee, with the note that if anyone else who sees this is writing (yay!), please feel invited to participate as well.
