I just finished all 3 dubs of season 3 and here’s my overall thoughts
Before I get into it, I want to talk about the voices in the Nick dub. I grew up with this version of the show, so I might be a little biased in saying that I think most of the voices fit their characters really well, such as Alejandra Reynoso as Flora, Kari Wahlgrrn as Faragonda, Sam Riegal as Riven, Keke Palmer as Aisha, Romi Dames as Musa, and Kimberly Brooks as Stormy. Some voices were meh or didn’t exactly fit, such as Ariana Grande as Diaspro, whoever voices Griffin, and Matt Shively as Sky. While the writing is hit or miss, having some really cringy lines, the cast tried their best with what they were given and I appreciate that. Also, ngl, the opening and ending songs are bops. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s get to it
The only two new characters introduced this season were Valtor and Nabu. Both are interesting and complex characters. Valtor is the Lord of all that’s Extra™️ and it’s extremely entertaining. Cedric Kühle, Sean Schemmel, and Josh Keaton do a fantastic job with the voice work. You can tell that each of these men really enjoy playing this character. One thing I don’t really understand is the 4kids dub changing his name to Baltor, but that’s a minor thing. Now, Nabu is the nicest boy omg I love him! He’s a great match for Aisha and knowing what happens to him, makes him a kind of tragic character.
This season gave us some of the best in character development, in my opinion. Each of the girls did develop as characters, but development was mainly focused on Aisha and Stella. Aisha’s conflict with her parents about her arranged marriage and her entire planet getting attacked and taken over by Valtor is really interesting to see on screen. Stella seeing her kingdom get taken over and manipulated by Cassandra and Chimera and her dad under Valtor’s spell really help her as a character. Her being surprised that her friends complemented her personality and her saying that she thought everyone saw her as pretty broke my heart. Musa did have little bit of development in the labyrinth episode, having to come to terms with her mom death was really refreshing. This is an important lesson on how those loved ones we’ve lost will always be with us in spirit.
If we’re talking about season 3, we can’t ignore the obvious. ENCHANTIX 👏IS👏BEST👏TRANSFORMATION👏👏👏
Not only are the aesthetics amazing, the fairy dust is genius idea, and the song is a bop, but the ways in which each girl obtains it is ingenius. Having each girl sacrifice themself or a part of themselves for a person from their home is extremely telling and unique for each girl.
I give season 3 a 9/10. Overall, this is another extremely solid season. I feel like this is the best or one of the best seasons the show has to offer. The characters are strong, the action is badass, the stories are intriguing and it feels like everything is bumped up to an 11 and it shows. We got to know more about these characters that we’ve grown to love and find out about Bloom’s true parents. I’m really enjoying this watch, so far! I can’t wait to watch more.
