At dusk yesterday there was a sort of thunderstorm, with the caveat that not much water managed to make it to ground. Very much a cloud-city-bespin sort of sky situation. This corner of the valley has received 0.7″ of precip in the last 100 days, which is not radically atypical. 15 miles away they got hail and flooding. Lightning obliterated a redwood and impaled splinters across a hundred feet of field. The old timers here are divided on whether this place’ll first burn down or wither and blow away but let’s not hold too dearly to any one demise. There’s a lot of ways to go.
