childhood story: when i was probably around 5 i had a crush. and a really bad crush. the thing about this crush was that... uh- it was on my cousin jon :). i was so young i didn’t understand family things but anyways. everytime i saw jon i’d hide but then like half way through when he’d talk to me i’d start singing the jonas brothers burning up (idk who taught me how to flirt or how i was so good at it 😉). basically i had a crush on my cousin and i’d serenade him with the jonas brothers

Please Welcome Ash Boudrie!
Hello, everyone! As you may know, I am not physically close enough to the UMMZ to take daily photos anymore. However, my wonderful friend Ash Boudrie (@ashboudrie) has kindly agreed to help keep Life with Dead Birds current to museum happenings by becoming our new photo-human! That title will change weekly, I’m sure.
Ash does research photography over at the UMMZ Bird Division, so she is constantly photographing all sorts of amazing birds to add more visual information to our databases. Many of the photos she sends will likely be freshly added to our specimen records, so you’ll be among the first to see them, certainly among the public. These are also the photographs that research will use to virtually examine physical characteristics, including size, dimensions, and plumage color.
Besides UMMZ work, Ashe is also an amazing artist (please see the specimen-inspired piece she did here), is applying to grad schools for animation, and has a tendency to be the kindest person in the room. Please welcome her to the LwDB Tumblr place!
