darkside! when the dust settles! ghosts!
i’m so excited for all three. tell me anything you feel comfortable sharing about any of those fics? 👀
oooooo ok so there’s so much to say
dark side?
things are coming to an end and I think that’s why its been so hard to write bc I just want to do it perfectly.
there’s just going to be so much emotion and so much pain in so little time
it’s just... i’m so mean you know, it’s going to hurt so much and then the epilogue will make it better.
so I’ll give you that as a warning of things to come without saying too much
when the dust settles?
so the town of arvala is a bit of a dump if we’re being honest, a ghost town with more dust than life in it
but that doesn’t mean all of arvala is like that
in fact? the adjacent mining colony has no shortage of life
miners more vulgar than the filthiest sailor, and a bustling brothel kept open all hours of the day as the miners came to and from their dangerous shifts. and this brothel fell under the sheriff’s jurisdiction, so if she was taking time out of her day to take Din to arvala seven, then he was going to have to go with her to handle a few things
and the men and women in the brothel love Din
they all fawn over him in an instant
sure, they love the sheriff, she’s great, she keeps them safe, and isn’t so strict she can’t ever have a good time, but Din?
pretty Brown Eyes, quiet, respectful, refusing to grope and objectify them, wanting to keep to himself and just wait for the sheriff to finish business
they pounce on him
and it only gets worse when he starts blushing and stuttering
they LOVE him
except, he can’t do anything more than focus on the way the sheriff hides her smirk under the brim of her hat
so it’s complicated. the whole job is terribly complicated
ghosts!
i have the second part finished but i’m not sure I love it yet, which is why it isn’t out yet
but we get to see more of the two of them before things get bad, and we get to see some more about why things got bad in the first place
these two are so afraid of losing each other that they refuse to talk about everything that’s pulling them so far apart, afraid that one wrong move and it’ll all be over
it wasn’t like all things were bad either
they were just hard
the nightmares and the snapping at each other, not sleeping and rarely ever eating real meals, it was his job but it was also more than that
more that just couldn’t be solved so easily when the two of you feared even bringing it up would end it
Brazil wasn’t the first contact you had been offered since settling somewhat permanently in Colombia, but it was the first time you actually thought you might take it
at least then, you wouldn’t have to talk about the way he was breaking your heart day after day
