When a favorite fic updates but the last chapter was leading up to angst and ended on a cliffhanger and you're not ready emotionally for what promises to be an angstfest so you have to sit and wait until at least 3 chapters have accumulated so you can skip to the last part of the newest chapter to know if it worked out and is safe to catch up without it destroying you for weeks after.

My parents and I do crossword puzzles at dinner because that means my dad doesn't annoy my mom by talking about lotro (or occasionally other games) constantly. It also avoids things like awkward silences. But it also means that occasionally my dad and I will have conversations about how the clue was "manhandle" but the answer was "maul" and really, maul suggests a lot more blood than manhandle and I can only wonder what my mom thinks when we go on tangents like that.

So my Nook cord died today. Until I get a new one, from where I know not, I can't use my Nook and this saddens me.
