So, in the past few weeks I’ve been obsessing over: Sukugo wedding imagery 1 2 , the moon, and that damn last finger.
And you know what, now that I line them up like this, you could actually make a story out of it.
Sukuna proposed to Gojo by vowing to remember him forever under the moonlight. There were witnesses. Penetrating the inviolability happened. The only thing missing was putting a ring on it.
But that’s where the last finger comes in, you see. Because who’s to say that finger wasn’t actually the ring finger????
The series ends with the finger in a box like it’s a proposal ring, and it’s tied to Tengen, who the Six Eyes is bound to by fate. And Sukuna proposed by saying he will remember him forever! AHA! it's come Full circle!
So what Gege was trying to tell us all along is this: Gojo was depressed cuz he couldn’t hit, but he had a backup plan. He sent his student to nail that ring finger on his behalf.
Meaning Gojo still won in the end.
Btw I got this idea from (Avant) by Eve.
Yeah, saying "The feeling of longing only for you. It cut the space like a wish" while showing the Prison Realm getting cut in half was crazy, but no one talks about how the video also showed the nail and the finger in another part where that same line played. So Gojo also kind of defeated Sukuna with an attack that cut through space ;)
