ok! so.... here's the deal.. i visceraly HATE what they did to Gamzee like I ain't even gonna say no more about this topic. BUT I had an amazing idea pop in my head like at the beggining of the month where I slowly but surely saved his character obviously not canon gamzee cause damn they really fucked him over. So I did an iteration of my beloved makara troll and I could go in a detailed explanation of where he was raised or how or why but I won't because nobody cares! And I already care too much just for other users to be like "actually he wouldn't be able to do this because" aah bullshit.

Look you either like it or you don't!!!! SO here I give you alt!Gamzee they're overall okay dubious nature and possible outbursts of rage here and there but like mild, they're also very traumatized from pressure/expectation and their "mom" (alt!Calliope) projecting her self into their body for plot manipulation. So they're basically still a servant to the Cherubs just in a different direction than fake godtier. Oh! They're also looking for a way to get to godtier without following the other Gamzee's path.

a little explanation on how I came up with this au alt!gamzee

I used two timelines for this: the main one and a doomed one.

alt!Calliope looked for eternity into an specific iteration of timelines where Gamzee was the most non-threatening version of himself, a rare variation that ended up being killed very early on by Nepeta probably. Giving him the same face scarring than his Alpha counterpart.

The retcon point being the killing spree event in the main timeline where it aligned with the time she met up with an almost deceased doomed Gamzee.

Here's where the interpretation of enraged Gamzee for me personally fits in. alt!Calliope used her narration powers to transfer his canonical relevance out of his body, leaving him as a pure rage creature in the main timeline. Let's say she took what remained of his "humanity" out of him, transfering it into this doomed dying Gamzee. Then she tied up both souls into one and as Gamzee was already spiritually connected with the Cherubs she became a like a mentor figure for this young Gamzee that would go on to be raised in paradox space and out of bounds. Kind of in liminal spaces, empty houses and unused assets from Homestuck. (As some of you have already seen his GreenRoom it is actually one of the beta kids bedroom)

Just caught up with your alt!gamzee au (love it btw) and the people wanna know, how does this affect canon gamkar in the long run?

he travels to some of the timelines where karkat is and tries to approach him

he just might be the most sane gamzee that karkat will ever meet.
