I haven’t drawn Aki (on right) since 2012, god....
god I’ve been meaning to finish these for AGES. Like maybe a year ughhh.
Wanted to illustrate the kind of hair decorations Altamara use in their modern era! The tassels/ribbons are called ‘flights’ and are essentially the decorations that are put on irl horse manes during shows and dressage. Like most things in their current culture, they -can- be imbued with military meaning such as using rank/corp palettes, but they’re also put in purely as a vanity item in different sizes kinds and colours.
Drawing this literally made me feel like time travel is possible, how do I have muscle memory for a character so ooooooold (in every sense fuck)
Funfactio, before I got upset with my original world building as a whole I was going to revamp it out of it's anime phase and give all the characters new names and everything. Raimaru was going to be Rhamahr, because I think his race has a thing for symmetry and palindromes.
