Drew some of ye olde Altamaran characters after physiotherapy yesterday!

I haven’t drawn Aki (on right) since 2012, god....

god I’ve been meaning to finish these for AGES. Like maybe a year ughhh.

Wanted to illustrate the kind of hair decorations Altamara use in their modern era! The tassels/ribbons are called ‘flights’ and are essentially the decorations that are put on irl horse manes during shows and dressage. Like most things in their current culture, they -can- be imbued with military meaning such as using rank/corp palettes, but they’re also put in purely as a vanity item in different sizes kinds and colours.

Some original aliens stuff that I forgot to post! 

The top pic is a really old Altamaran side char of mine, Mamoru! He’s basically a greeter/bellhop for a living and his hobby is keeping the alien equivalent of fancy chickens.

The bottom pic is an unspecified Shremp and Crocatiel going for a walk!

Some more Altamaran ‘birds’ aka Prrks!

clockwise from top left there’s a parakeet/budgie type one, a gamefowl/chicken-ish one, an owl and a kiwi equivalent! 

It wasn’t on purpose, I was literally just sketching for the heck of it, but it ended up being interesting to see how they would all hold themselves differently with those legs. Also this is mostly ridiculous colours, but the foliage of the planet is teal and red so some of this would count as camouflage.

Quick thing before bed- @cosmicsynthetics was like ‘yo imagine if Altamarans and Alternians were crossbred wouldn’t that be wild’

And I was pretty much like ‘well they’re both humanoid bug aliens and both have six limbs during at least PART of their life span so it would probably actually work pretty well?’

so I squeezed these out real fast. Pretty sure you’d just get sickly desaturated brown bug humanoids with various different arrangements of six limbs, and chitin spurs on their heads! (the arrangements are: four arms, two arms and two wings, two arms and ‘grub’ limbs, and nasty mixes of the above)

Don’t take this seriously btw, it was just for fun!

Some Altamarans it’s a miracle~

I’m super tired but original aliens yaaaaay. Not very imaginative poses but there’s good ol’ Pamkha on the right, and an Altamara with one of their native not-lizards on the left!

Altamaran Animal Drafts by Jesseth

No huge reasoning behind these, it's just some Altamaran setting animals that fit the same niches as some Earth ones! They all belong to some rough Altamaran family trees that I've drawn or thought of members for before. eue

On the left we have a monkey-like creature that's probably a relative of this critter. A jawless plated fish-like creature that fills a similar role to a sea turtle, and a salamander/axolotl type thing that's a relative of the Gora.

On the right we have a sparrow/small bird equivalent that's probably a Prrk or in the same family. An aquatic insect-y creature that fills a similar role to a flying fish, and a critter that fills roughly the role of a rabbit or guinea pig, that's actually a tiny member of the deer-like group!

I like how some of these came out a lot more than others, but it was a fun little exercise either way, and I hope they're also fun to look at<3

Feeling oddly inspired for my original aliens today, but also kinda guilty and awkward about it. regardless I still wanted to draw something!

So here's Zeni~ He's a cliche' orphaned alien who joined the army the moment he was old enough. He loves the comradeship of the military and treats his fellow soldiers as family. That passion has made him incredibly good at his job and he's being eyed up as a future military leader... He's got emotional hangups about his childhood and lack of biological family to get over before he can really grow up and shine though.
