These are the alternative covers we had for issue #5 of The Writer’s Room, our magazine. The one on the left is one of Ash’s photographs and the one on the right was created by Karin, using the font Segoe UI Emoji. We had major troubles picking a favorite among these three (eventually we voted on it) and thus, wanted to share the alternatives with you.

Katy’s Five Alternative Album Covers (Not Including the Regular Cover)

All up there are 6 album covers, and 6 picture discs. I was going fine this morning. I was going to transfer money into my savings because recently I blew a lot of money on album pre-orders for Sophie Ellis Bextor, Kylie Minogue and Róisín Murphy. Simply it is my own fault, because I don’t like missing out on cool things.

Suddenly, I accidentally swiped into a group I normally frequent and my eyes fell upon a strangers post. The post showed the 5 alternative covers on picture disc and CD. I scrolled away thinking how cool they looked but I don’t need them.

Then the thought “I can sell them as a set later on...” came into my head. And it wouldn’t leave. “I can frame them...” also flew around my mind. “You’re meant to be saving for a house to move out of your parent’s house, you dumb bitch” hit me a couple of times too.

I bought them. USD to AUD. Expensive postage included. I hope that someday I can make more back than I paid for, if not, I just have really cool wall art that I am happy to own. I need more vinyl for my walls.
