Activités génératrices de revenus

Développement  et Diversification d’activités génératrices de revenus pour les populations cotières

Aout 2015 : Deux nouvelles activités sont initiées par l’Association de femmes du Parc Marin de Nosy Hara ou (FIVEPANOHA : Fikambanan’ny Vehivavy Parka Nosy Hara) : restaurant communautaire et petit élevage de poulet gasy dans le Fokontany Ampasindava Commune Mangoaka Antsiranana 2.

Le Fokontany Ampasindava est la porte d’entrée au Parc Marin de Nosy Hara qui se situe à 37 km au sud-ouest d’Antsiranana. Nosy Hara est un joyau de la biodiversité marine et côtière à Madagascar et a un haut potentiel touristique considérable. Il présente des habitats spécifiques comme les récifs coralliens, les mangroves ; les zones d’herbiers et les ilots. Il abrite des site de ponte et des zones nourricières des espèces menacées comme le Dugong, les tortues marines,le Pygargue de Madagascar et constitue l’habitat de l’unique au monde Brookesia micra.

Ce Parc est géré par Madagascar National Parks et C3 Madagascar (Conservation Centrée sur la Communauté) est l’un de ses partenaires techniques et financiers.. Le développement de l’écotourisme est parmi les 04 axes stratégiques « marché   prioritaire tourisme : développement du tourisme et recherche,en partenariat avec le secteur privé » décrit dans le Plan d’Aménagement du Parc National Nosy Hara.

L’association de femmes a bénéficié cet appui et encadrement de C3 dans le cadre de la mise en œuvre du projet intitulé : Dugong for Life, engager les communautés malgaches dans la bonne gouvernance de l’écosystème marin. Entre autres : Visite d’échanges avec l’Association des femmes d’Ambanja, une Association également financée par le Conseil Général du Finistère,    Formation en premier secours dispensée par la Croix Rouge de Diego Suarez ; Formation sur les techniques d’accueil, hygiène, cuisine, gestion de caisse ;            Conduite d’élevage ; vaccination

Ce projet est financé par Conservation Leadership Programme. La mise en place du restaurant communautaire et la construction du poulailler et les poulets gasy pour l’élevage a été réalisé grâce au soutien du  Conseil Général du Finistère Coopération décentralisée Région Diana (photo ci-dessous).

Ces petits projets ont été sélectionnés  à partir de demandes  soumises à C3  et  des études de faisabilité,  comme activités génératrices de revenus viables et faisables.

Ainsi donc les activités de FIVEPANOHA contribuent au développement de l’écotourisme dans le Parc National à travers la mise à disposition de service d’  accueil et de restauration communautaire et l’élevage de poulet gasy qui l’approvisionnera.

Et  correspondent au Plan d’Aménagement et de Gestion  (PAG) du Parc national Nosy Hara  et au Shéma Régional  de Développement de la Région Diana (SRDE).

Community woodlot for Kia Island

  Kia Island experiences long periods of dry weather, the only piece green areas are clustered along the coastal strips round the island’s bays and along rainy season streams. Luceana or vaivai dina is the most dominant and most invasive as well and mangoes are the largest of the trees found on Kia. The bare hills and mountains and the absence of local indigenous trees like vesi, dakua salusalu, kaudamu, koka and fruit trees like tarawau, kavika, dawa and flowering trees like makosoi, lagakali, leba and misimisi, would be a great concern to anyone who plans to live there.

After carrying out a socio economic survey in 2011, we found out that the main cause of the loss in these important plants was fire. The slash and burning method of farming on a frequent basis has resulted in the loss of these trees. To help out in restoring these lost indigenous species, C3 has embarked on a woodlot project with the help from the Forestry Department.

  Conservation Ambassadors were selected as representatives from the three villages for a two days nursery management training at the Forestry Research Station at Korotari outside Labasa. The training included fruit picking, skin shedding, seed selection, germination, potting and final transplant of young saplings to final spot in the field. As well as other important issues that can help a nursery to be successful like soil mixing, making germination boxes, sand and soil strainers and potting shelves.

  Apart from helping the island in re-establishment of its lost plant species, C3 also aims to provide alternative livelihood and income from producing sandlewood.

  Returning to the island, the team is now ready to spread their knowledge to the community by first building a nursery for each of the three villages on the island.
