I love seeing #LocalTheatre in #AlternativeSpaces. 🤗 There have been some extraordinary collaborations between #local cultural institutions here in #Charlotte. This time, @paperhousetheatre continued their residency at @frockrevival, presenting a beautiful reading of Rebecca Gilman's adaptation of Carson McCullers' #TheHeartIsALonelyHunter with @charlottelit. Fantastic work! I have to find my copy of the book from when I read it in high school and read it again. 😁 #CarsonMcCullersCentennial #CLTarts #LocalArts #LocalArtist (at FROCK Shop)
I love seeing #LocalTheatre in #AlternativeSpaces. Tonight, it's @donnascottprod's production of William Missouri Downs' "Women Playing Hamlet" at @charlotte_art_league in @southendclt. These ladies are playing until March 25th so come out and support #CLTtheatre. #CLTarts #Hamlet #Shakespeare on the #IdesOfMarch (at Charlotte Art League)
I've been thinking (again) about exhibition and the part it plays in developing a practice. The body of work I'm showing at Orlando is far from complete but it's so valuable to exhibit work in progress and allow that dialogue to feed into my process. I do feel that we could be utilizing all kinds of spaces to get more artwork out there. This is an interesting paper I came across looking at the history of using "alternative spaces".
