Aww, there’s kitties.

I’ve never been sure if there’s actual regular animals in Arknights along with the races, but this seems to confirm that.

I wonder if anyone finds the animals that look like their race at all unsettling? Like if there were tiny humans that existed in our world.

I think the fandom is part of the reason that the 1D boys and those around them are so slow to learn and change their ways of thinking and speaking on sensitive topics.

They are constantly subject to ridiculous abuse online from fans. This is especially true when they say or do something “problematic”. The polite and informative tweets and responses get lost in a barrage of downright insulting remarks.

So Liam, for example, knows that he didn’t mean any harm with his comment. But he comes on line and finds his mentions full of vitriolic abuse. He knows he doesn’t deserve that, so instead of taking the time to sift through the tweets and find the reasonable ones, he dismissed the entire issue and feels put upon.

He’s half right, in that he doesn’t deserve hate for what he said. But he’s half wrong, because he did make a misstep and needs to learn how to navigate that issue with sensitivity. But he won’t learn because the prevalence of hurtful and unhelpful messages and accusations means that he dismisses the entire thing as unwarranted hate and ends up feeling self-righteous and defensive.

It’s just not an environment that encourages personal growth and change.
