To Break a Boy || Riccardo
This boy was special. Something about him had drawn Santino in the moment tha the had seen him. The way he took charge of the children that had accompanied him, the way he had yelled and screamed as, one-by-one, they had been torn from his arms. How he wept over the child-monster that had been thrown in last. Though Amadeo had also been spared, there was no way that they could be put together. No, to break the fledgling, they needed him to think he was alone. So completely alone.
This one, though. Marius had not turned this one, and Santino had to wonder why. He knelt down beside of the boy and gripped his jaw with a firm grip and forced the boy to look up at him. "I spared you from the fire, you should be thanking me on bended knee, boy," he stated simply, watching him carefully. "Yet I hear you've done nothing except scream and curse at those who come in to care for you during the day." He smirked slightly, dark eyes fixed on youthful.
"I spared you from paying for the sins of your Master. He was a blasphemer, you know... he denied the one true god and his Dark Servant below. He was called for a greater purpose and he refused..." he stated simply. "This was the will of God..." he added. "And that boy. The one you cried for so desperately? The one Marius favored? Surely you knew that he was different? That Marius was different? They were not human, dear boy... I could show so many amazing things. You are the one I chose... you are my chosen one, boy..."
Santino slowly released Riccardo's jaw and straightened up. "What's your name, boy?" he asked softly. "You are a beautiful one. You would make a good servant of god. Tell me your name."
