Land of the Lost - Enik by 10th-letter
Friday is Fan Day. Check out this Land of the Lost fan art from j(ay)
From the artist: “ This is the final of 5 cards that are to raise money for the March of Dimes; Steve Frank’s semi-annual “Steve4MOD” event, this is year 6.
Enik the Altrusian
Cool painting of Enik from Land of the Lost. Painted by writer, artist and friend to this blog Adam Furgang. 1999
Crystal Matrix Tables
I have been thinking about the matrix tables that are often shown in the Land of the Lost. We know that they are remnants of the ancient and fallen Altrusian society. Technology that the Marshalls have yet to master (and often is appears that Enik struggles with it as well…), but my question today is about the nature of that technology. Are the crystal tables and the giant crystals seen in the walls of the caves something the Altrusians created and developed or is it that the time and dimensional manipulating technology something they created around the pre-existing properties of those crystals?
Based on the rough shape and design of the crystals (and the matrix tables), my first guess is that the tech is built around the properties of the crystals… but I am still not sure. Any thoughts?
Hey, I know how it goes, it’s late at night and you’re up watching Land of the Lost on YouTube and eating a big bowl of Life cereal, when you wonder... “what happened to all of those costumes? Where are they now?” Well in the case of Enik, he’s OK. In fact, he’s doing better than ever thanks to the efforts of Tom Spina Designs. They restored the costume to original condition for a private collector. Here’s company owner Tom Spina giving out credit.
“This project drew on all of our collective skills. Mike Thomas sculpted the new hands and feet (taking those through sculpt, mold and paint). I restored the suit, seaming on the hands and paint matching the repairs. I created the custom mannequin to form-fit the costume, built the themed base and his necklace. Lonnie Hale cast up the clear resin jewels for his bracelet and Kitty Hebert created the tunic (with Kelly Delcambre finding the PERFECT sparkly fabric!).”

Is Enik a friend or foe to the Marshalls? Ever since the show first aired, I have always thought of Enik as a friend to Rick, Will and Holly (and later to Uncle Jack), but I am finding that not everyone agrees with this. If anyone would like to share an opinion or bring in some facts on this topic, I would love to hear them.
