That night haunts me. Everything happened so fast, but I remember all of it I really wish I didn't but sadly I do. We had just put Asher to sleep. He just looked so peaceful in his crib, he really took after his father his wavy black hair. He truly was a gift that such creatures as ourselves were unworthy of.
I remember not wanting to leave the room that night, a gut feeling telling me not to leave our child alone, but a whining Vlad from the door somehow convinced me of otherwise.
“Something doesn’t feel right.” I sighed not able to sake the feeling. “What if we let him sleep in the bed with us just for tonight?” I asked him turning around to meet a frowning lover “My dear we've spoken about this. He must learn to sleep on his own.” He said pushing me towards are room. “But i have this feeling that I simply cannot shake.” He sighed “I know these attacks have been more frequent as of late. I’m worried as well. I gave everything up for this life, my country, my people, my crown, yet they won't leave us alone.” He stood there hugging me although I could slip from his grip and vanish with no trace of where I went.
“we shouldn't think that way. Let's just enjoy what time we have together my love.” I said leading him to our room.
I remember waking up to the scent of smoke filling my nostrils. We jumped up running towards Ashers room. He laid in his crib crying. I picked him up. “What do we do now?” I asked Vlad. “Take him and run.” “But what about you?” I asked concerned about what my husband would do.
“I'll be fine. Just protect our son. I'll find you two later.” Looking at the sleeping bundle that's in my agrms as leave my husband to fend of what knows evil is after us I realised that the sleeping boy in my arms is all that we have left.
It's been what almost 200 years later? I've heard the stories. Some say he was killed that night. Others say he was captured and tortured turned into a slave. I just pray that the last one isn't true.
"Mother please hurry up we'll be late for lunch." Asher complained "I know but I need to grab a few things from the store." I laughed at his eagerness. "Okay but please make it quick." He followed me into the store.
Just as we came in the store a man in a red coat with a smaller blonde girl came in after us. "I don't understand why we have to run silly errands?" He grumbled under his breath as another lady joined them. "Will you stop complaining I only need a few things from here and then we can leave." I giggled to myself.
We were halfway done when I sent Asher to get somethings from the other side of the store to cut the trip shorter. Not really paying attention to where I was going i bumped into someone. "I am really sorry. I didn't mean to." I looked up it was the man from earlier. He looks really familiar. Almost just like him. Stop that we said we would move on. But before I could stop myself the words came out of my mouth.
"Do I know you?" Which was responded with an 'excuse me?' "No I'm sorry you just look a lot like my late husband." I sighed knowing that I couldn't help the tears that pricked in my eyes. "Mother is this man giving you trouble?" Asher said walking up to me.
"What?! No no. Let's just leave him alone." I said returning to my cart. "Asher?" We both turned around whilst spilling out a yes. Next thing I know is I'm in a tight hug the but the only person who would ever hug me like that is... "Vlad?" I choked out. He just squeezed me tighter. "Mother?" Ash asked me tilting his head to the side in confusion. "My son?" He turning towards him, scooping him up in a crushing hug. Getting weird looks from some of the customers around us. The lady that was with him spoke up "we should take this somewhere else." Leaving the store we agreed to meet up somewhere else.
Later that evening we met at my place, which is a few blocks down form the store. We sat next to each and spoke to each other as though we woke in the same bed that morning. "What happened to you that night? Where did you go?" Years of of questions slipped out in between tears. "I told you that I would find you did I not?" He asked wiping away the tears. I nodded knowing that my once torn family can now be whole.
I really want to thank @monsterloversanonymous for the help they gave me. I love you man.
But anyways I hoped you like it. And sorry about the unfinished version.-ash
