#Repost @ahmedsirour (@get_repost) ・・・ 30 years ago this month, my ear as a vocal arranger was born before I even knew I'd be a producer 20 years later. . 30 years ago, I bought this blue #cassettetape and played this song, #SpreadLove by the legendary @take6official, for the first time and this whole album changed mine and many others' world as NOBODY was ready for 6 brothers who could sing well individually but whose #sixpartharmony together would change the music game in a way no group before them ever had, and who others since STILL can't touch!! (Sorry #afrobluehu #pentatonix, or #boyzIImen or #committed, or just about any group #acapellagroup or band who are known for #harmony). Without #ClaudeMcKnight #MarkKibble, #AlvinChea, #DavidThomas, #CedricDent, and #MervynWarren (the original lineup), who knows how many more talents would not have been influenced to become who they have today. . #Platinum on their first try with 2 Grammys (which is now currently 10 total), and never endorsed drugs, alcohol, smoking (but there was that sex scene music in Boyz in the Hood lol), and singing about God but you're hearing the dopest #Jazz/#Gospel runs and complex harmonies you've ever heard! My all-time favorite #acappellagroup and the coolest brothers I've had the pleasure to meet on a couple of occasions (that concert where they sang "A Quiet Place" with the Morehouse College glee club singing beautifully behind them was other-worldly)! .
