8. Do they draw/paint a lot?

They don't actively take time for art as a hobby, but they'll doodle in the margins of their notes whenever they're contemplating or planning things, just to keep their hands busy. They're a fidgetter!

16. Do they prefer to eat alone or with company?

With company absolutely, communal meals with discussion over them are the best! They'll eat fine alone, but it's so much more engaging with a buddy to interact with.

24. Other sleeping habits?

Sleeps sprawled out completely, which was completely fine if they had to share a bed since they're an asura. Until...they grew the wings and a much thicker draconic tail. They still sprawl, and now that could mean you'll get thwacked by a wing during the night.

5. Do they like to sing? Are they good at it?

Sing not so much, but she likes to hum! She'll hum casually while doing most things to fill the silence. Back home she liked how the sound would bounce off and around the tunnel walls while she worked. There's no reverb really out here on the surface, sounds seem to just...go off forever and never return. But the humming is a pleasant habit. And sometimes she gets delightfully surprised if she's somewhere that echoes more like home.

2. How do you pronounce their name? Does anyone pronounce it wrong?

Pronunciation: VU-eese

In world people get it right usually, irl I'm willing to bet a lot of players shorten the sounds together a bit more which is chill!

3. What's the silliest nickname they were given? Is it in-story or just how you call them?

No nicknames for Vuisce, they don't comprehend nicknames for themself well and constantly don't realize they should react to those like their given name. The team gave up on nicknames fast lmao

6. What is THE thing(s) that inspired you to make the character? Would they like it?

What if we save the dragons instead of killing them because we realized the magic oversaturation in the world WAY FASTER? And then I had a field day playing with how to stop the dragon threats without killing them, and how that would impact the world!

7. Have they changed much since their first concept? Could they be considered the same person? If not, would they get along with each other?

Oh absolutely the same person still, I love where I started with Alvvae and while she's been elaborated on she's never changed. I've just been able to flesh out my own personal canon of subterranean asuran cities and differences in evolution from her point uwu

Oh that's easily Alvvae, by a landslide!!! (a cis boy who uses she/her pronouns)

She's absolutely TINY, minuscule! Doesn't even break 1 foot tall!

As for who she is,

Alvvae is at this point a different species from surface asuras, there was divergent evolution between those who remained in subterranean cities and those driven to the surface by Primordus. Her city, Rata Solus, lay deep beneath the surface and the asura within remained adapted to these conditions. They're smaller, stouter, and while I headcanon that above-ground asura have long troll-like tails, I also headcanon that the subterranean asura have shorter stubbier tails. Almost useless as they're much more inclined to move on all fours compared to their surface counterparts, but they can still stand when they want to with a bit of balance.

Her city lasted over 200 years longer than her already surfaced cousins, remaining peacefully stable until Primordus' second awakening in 1329. and while they weren't hit quite as bad with how out of the way they were, their city was still dangerously destabilized and many tunnels collapsed. As most began to rebuild and fortify a smaller area, trying to wait out the dragon's cycle, Alvvae fled to the surface with a few others. Some had heard about past asuran cities fleeing to the surface and surviving, others sought a chance to find help. Alvvae meanwhile decided to take matters into her own hands to end this danger for good. And she began asking around about the dragons! Eventually she caught the name of a commander, specifically Commander Io ( @ascalonianpicnic ), and tracked her down insisting that she come along to help take down Primordus once and for all. And up through Icebrood Saga, she did just that!

Alvvae is a very very capable scout, especially as an elementalist who helped with tunnel construction back home. She's able to work her way into and through any space especially below ground, and has fantastic hearing and sense of touch. Her skills were invaluable in traversing the dangers of the North.

She is very sensitive to the sunlight though, having never experienced it before. She remains fully bundled up to protect her skin, and wears darkened goggles so she isn't blinded by daylight. Despite this she's immensely adventurous and naturally curious, taking every chance she can to explore and find out new things and experience customs of her distant cousins along with the other races of Tyria. Absolutely wonderful tiny little guy!!!

And don't you dare start a splash fight with her, she may be small but her powers aren't. She can be hilariously effective in games and sports when magic is allowed!

Oh that'd be Alvvae by a landslide✨️

You see this tiny asura, just this absolutely miniscule little guy you encounter in a dark cave. She's bundled up and has goggles on, what could this little thing even do to you, you wonder?

Then she snaps, and your torch goes out as she removes her goggles. You're plunged into darkness, the only light for the room will be her fire and lightning attacks, and your own if you're lucky enough to be playing a class that uses light-emitting attacks. You're going to have an awful time and it will absolutely feel unfair, this would be a fight that anet would be scrambling to rebalance several times as players face months of failures and outrage.

For each 25% of damage you do, she briefly uses her earth magic to disappear into the walls and shrink the room incrementally, you'll be fighting in closer and closer quarters, which will make it easier to see everything during the light bursts but will make it harder to avoid her attacks. 💥 COLLISON - what emotions do they have trouble dealing with?

Fear! Fear is hard for her to deal with, her reaction is definitely freeze when something genuinely terrifies her. It took a lot of working at it to find the Commander and help take down Primordus considering she's afraid of destroyers.

🎂 BIRTHDAY CAKE - when is their birthday? do they like celebrating it?

September 13! She loves celebrating it and she's very enthusiastic about how big the treats are above ground!!! Like, a small cake is still bigger than her, wow! And she could literally fly away with just a few balloons! Makes birthdays exciting~

🕷️ SPIDER - what is their biggest fear? do they have any irrational / mundane fears?

The fear that her community will never recover within her lifetime, also a massive fear of destroyers!

On the less serious and more mundane side of things though she's got a fear of eels and snakes! Always gotta keep a lil water barrier up when she goes swimming.

🏊 SWIMMING - can they swim? or are they afraid of water? how well do they swim? how do they feel about swimming in the ocean?

She can swim and she swims very well, HOWEVER still bodies of water are all she knows how to handle. Lots of subterranean rivers and lakes and such! Oceans and seas and above-ground rivers get so rocky and the currents are strong enough to carry her away! She can survive just fine as an elementalist but it doesn't make for a fun time.

8. are their hands steady?

Very! Every motion is deliberate, every slight twitch intentional. She's got perfect control of her body and it's clear in how confident she is even up on the surface of Tyria. She's quite the impressive person to have heading up a tunneling project!

12. what color would they paint their room? would there be a design on the ceiling?

As much as she misses how easy to see and dim it is below ground, she does love the variety of colors the sky comes in! When her home is rebuilt she paints her room with so many colors, able to finally enjoy the variety the sky has to offer without the safety filter of her goggles~ the ceiling would be a whole mishmash of those colors and clouds.

16. would they draw patterns in frosted windows/fogged up mirrors? what would they draw?

She would draw additions to the view through a window! Little extra people walking around, maps of how it would look if it were a subterranean area, creatures poking out of bushes, stuff like that! And on a mirror, she can be found sometimes quickly jotting down ideas she's thinking of if she doesn't have a notepad handy!
