During my process of writing / illustrating the book, I had envisioned Everly encountering some forest animal friends. That concept didn’t make the final cut into the book, but it was still an idea I had wanted to explore, so the painting above is that exploration.
With the start of a new season, comes a new page from my upcoming book ALWAYS EVERLY, due out in stores and online September 21st, 2021.

Here is a close up look at the cover art for my new book ALWAYS EVERLY. Every page was painted with a mix of acrylic paint and paper collage. I ended up with quite a lot of these cups of painted paper which helped me organize the colorful mess that is paper collage.
