The weather was growing chillier, but Alyssa was found seated on the ground in front of the Hades cabin. She had a thick jacket on, but she was barefoot and without gloves. Her nose was slightly pink from the frost, but she paid it no attention as she focused on building a Christmas tree—Hades style. It was made of bones that were so white and clean that they looked plastic, and small skulls hung from random tips of the tree, being gruesome mimics of ornaments.
The usually alert girl was focused so heavily on her work that she failed to hear anyone approach her from behind.
