Was re reading that alyzeus chapter from forgive my wanton grief and I have to ask do you have more hcs of Penelope with her brothers? Her being the beloved pampered child has my heart

Thank you for rereading! Here a few of my Alyzeus and Penelope headcanons, there's not much I'm afraid:

Alyzeus held baby Telemachus before he left for the Trojan War, and proudly talked about how he is finally an Uncle.

After the war, Alyzeus went to Ithaca before returning to Acarnania proper, and gifted a lot of the treasures he'd won throughout the war to Penelope - jewelry, pottery, things of that sort.

Alyzeus has a confidant/spy placed in Ithaca, in the Royal Household after Penelope and Odysseus got married, because he was worried about how Penelope would be treated by her new husband.

Out of all her brothers, Alyzeus is the one most close to Odysseus. He trusts him and spoke for him multiple times to Icarius for Penelope's hand.

Mother and Father were fighting.

Again.

Penelope let out a tired sigh as the voices of her parents, the strong King Icarius and the beautiful Queen Periboea, began growing louder, having their second argument of the day. Or was it the third?

Their fighting had increased lately, and they were unable to be in the same room anymore without it turning into a screaming match.

She wondered how everything came to be this way - Mother and Father used to be so loving with one another, never shying away from displaying their affection. Her father once proudly stated that he and her mother had a love that all of Achaea envied, and Penelope wondered where it had all gone wrong.

(Or, 11-year-old Penelope tries to find the answer to what being in love means to understand the crumbling marriage of her Mother and Father)

This was originally supposed to be a one-shot for the childhood prompt of Penelope week, but it seems better as split chapters and I wasn’t able to write it at the time lol.
