So my thoughts after the first show:
Obviously, they sounded amazing, they had great energy and it was great to see them again after so long 🥺
BUT (and it’s a big but) I was kinda disappointed with the set list. It was basically recycled almost in its entirety from the end of the last tour, but this time with even LESS tbhc, even though that’s the most recent album. I knew it was a big hope to think they’d maybe give a bit more justice to tbhc by touring it more, but at this point we’ve had three tours with mostly am songs and it’s getting old. If they wanted to stick with older material, there’s so many album cuts they could’ve picked that would’ve made the show seem way fresher. Especially since right now every band is having their big comeback since Covid, I felt like this would’ve been the perfect opportunity to showcase some old gems that’ve fallen by the wayside.
It was a great show, and I wish I could go to one soon, but I did hope for a little bit more after such a long hiatus! I’m fully expecting to eat my words however once the new album comes out (if it comes out, I’m hearing October now so we’ll see).
