HH season 2 got nominated for a AMA again, alongside KPDH and WFG. What are the odds of them actually winning this time?
Did you know the AMAs only exist because ABC lost the license to broadcast the Grammys in 1974. In 2022, it moved from ABC (read Disney) to CBS (read Paramount).
It's based on metrics, so streaming hits and sales. You don't ask to be added, you just are or aren't based on how popular your stuff was over the last year. So I think it is important to note that the number of streams is not unique. A small group of fans can listen to the songs on repeat and it gets nominated. Like, aside from Wicked and KPDH, Hazbin Hotel is in competition with the soundtrack of F1.
F1 is a movie from last year I remember seeing commercials for but never heard about during and after its release starring Brad Pitt and it's like Cars 3 but the "Old Head" racer finishes his last race, wins the gold and happily goes off into retirement as a hero.
I mean, apparently this movie is Brad Pitt's highest grossing film of his career, and he was in the original Fight Club.
Wicked , KPDH and even Hazbin all are musical-based. They are entwined with the story and actually have lyrics. And they are going up against Hans Zimmer.
That's like Disney's Beauty and the Beast (1991) going against the original Star Wars soundtrack for best music while simultaneously being listed alongside Britney Spears. It's so different from everything else that the fact it was listed feels like we were desperate.
Also, this is KPDH first time being in the AMA since it was released last June and the AMA is in May. Arcane Season 2 won the AMA last year as it was released in November 2024. KPDH previously in the Grammys and the Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA).
