Eugenio Finardi-Amami Lara Sanremo 1999
Hey there! Litfiba wasn’t the only Italian group who dedicated a song to our very favorite action heroine. There’s also this guy here, Eugenio Finardi, who, back in 1999 (yeah, just a while back) decided to write “Amami Lara” (Love me Lara) on the occasion of Sanremo, the most important song festival here in Italy. This one was a whole lot harder to translate so bare with me and enjoy the video! Fun fact: he wrote the song while watching his son playing Tomb raider as inspiration.
TRANSLATION
Lara...fights on her own against the entire world,
She tries to feel it more realistic,
Lara wants to get to the bottom of everything.
Alone, lost in her own labyrinth,
She doesn’t know I can see her well,
She doesn’t know I’d like to tell her :
Love me Lara,
Love me some more,
Look into me just a moment,
Stop for a while, get out of the game,
Let me lend you a hand, don’t start all over again,
Give me a minute, let me save.
I believe in love’s strenght,
I demand more respect and attention,
But in the eyes of others,
All I see is disappointment.
What I feel means nothing,
It’s just a dream, an illusion.
Love me Lara,
Love me some more,
Look into me just a moment,
Stop for a while, get out of the game,
Let me lend you a hand, don’t start all over again,
Give me a minute, let me save.
Alone in the indifference of time,
On the hunt for everything yet nothing remains,
Change modern ideals’s perspective,
All anorexic sentimentalists.
Let’s play for a little longer together...
