MerMay day 10 — some hermit crab mermaids hanging around talking.
I think I need more practice drawing seashells (does that back one look like she’s in a croissant?) but overall I think they turned out pretty cute.

MerMay day 13 — lemonade! After my cozy cocoa mermaid, I wanted to do something summery and sunshiny. I think she turned out pretty cute.
MerMay day 9! A narwhal-based mermaid, since that’s one of the possible creatures that inspired mermaids. (I mistakenly thought they also had knees, but that’s apparently belugas and walruses. 🤷🏼♀️ Anyway...)
I was really taken with the idea of a unicorn-mermaid, despite the fact that it’s mostly only male narwhals that grow tusks. (One of the two known animals that tend to grow them through their skin! 😬)
But I figured since mers are made up anyway,
I do what I want! 💁🏼♀️

MerMay day 5 is based on a flying fish. ‘Cause they’re neat.

I learned a bit about goldfish while I was looking up reference pics today.
Apparently these kind of goldfish, with “telescope” eyes, actually have pretty bad vision. And their eyes are so delicate that they sometimes just... fall off. 🤷🏼♀️
