My latest thesis work
Artist Statement: My work is an exploration of abstracted, atmospheric environments using visceral, organic forms. The everyday need to escape reality and delve into imaginary or fantastical realms drives the paintings, drawings, and dried paint collages I create. I use visual intuition to guide the cathartic experience of making art. Acrylic paint is my primary media because of its vibrancy and synthetic texture, which juxtaposes with the biological imagery my work evokes. My love of nature influences my need for an immersive and interactive experience with the pieces, while using a vibrant palette generates a sense of life.
