Sarah's role in As you are

Look, I don't mean to be rude or whatever, but I don't see how Sarah is a relevant character in As you are. I mean she is in the same way Jack's mum and Mark's dad are, she is functional to the plot, but I don't see her to be a protagonist alongside Jack and Mark. Jack is the actual protagonist of the story to me, and the movie shows a deep physicological analysis of his character, we know also a lot about Mark's character not only bc he is the most important person in Jack's life, but also bc the way you interpret Mark as a character has an impact in the way you read the ending. Sarah is just a nice girl who happens to be a close friend, we don't have any psychological analysis of her character whatsoever. Also I wouldn't say that the story is about a love triangle between the three character, of course their relationship is ambiguous and I believe Mark might be attracted to her in some ways (I doubt Jack ever was tho), but at the same time both Jack and Mark go to her when they feel, for a reason or another, that they can't be with each other. It's not a love triangle, it's a love story between Jack and Mark. They both love her dearly, but they aren't in love with her, but I think that they are genuinely, purely in love with each other, even tho they both handle their feelings in the wrong way, and make those pure innocent feelings into something dreadful.
