*busts down a wall* I HAVE AN AU IDEA

ok so this is related to the soundtrack to an existential crisis au that u *did* technically say u were interested in lmao

also i havent rlly thought this idea through so

ah, good ol’ post-strike lmao. davey (and les lol) has to go back to school. since everyone recognizes his face from the papers, he is surrounded at school. everyone wants to become friends with our now-celebrity…especially his fake, trash friends that used him and left him to rot months prior! sigh

davey shuts his old “friends” because he’s over them. he tries to be nice about it, but, due to how overwhelmed he is, he literally snaps at them.

and, since they’re annoying, they spread rumors about davey! (read: i don’t think that the info would get released to the general public, but most/the whole school definitely knows.) one rumor was probably along the lines of davey had some sort of a relationship with a man/newsie during the strike, but literally no one bought it lmao. still, davey clarifies that this rumor was not true.

time goes on, great, great.

well, anyway, one day, davey thinks about these rumors. i don’t even have any interest towards men. where’d they come up with that? questions like that roll through his head.

and the thoughts keep bothering him throughout the day, at night, and into the next day: saturday! though they don’t have to anymore, he and les still work with the newsies on the weekends and days off from school. they just enjoy the newsies’ company!!

with les by his side, davey makes his way towards the circulation gate. he almost immediately sees jack, with his rolled up sleeves and boyish grin and crinkled eyes. jack bounces towards davey, all energized and already blabbering about how boring the headline probably was gonna be.

but davey doesn’t listen to him.

because davey’s stomach swirls.

and davey begins to panic.

what the hell is that supposed to mean? jack is good…jack is his best friend…why does davey feel sick around him? he wasn’t sick before he got there.

however, he ignores it and continues on the day.

because he’s a smart boy who asks ✨clarifying questions✨ he asks sarah about it when he gets home. actually — scratch the smart because he realizes how big of a mistake he made when sarah says that the “sick feeling” could’ve been butterflies. she says it seriously and warmly; no teasing behind her tone of voice.

now davey is really going to puke. he doesn’t like men. especially his best friend? no. no. no.

besides, jack has katherine. davey doesn’t want to ruin that. and jack would probably be disgusted by davey if he heard that davey had any interest in the same sex.

but davey can’t help imagine himself as kath when he sees jack and kath holding each other the next day.

im so sry for how long this is … and this isnt even the whole fic idea lmao

Fairy- What is something that you get excited about?

Aside from opening night, I'm excited for my friends and my partner's friends to meet this weekend! They're country guys, whereas my friends are city guys. It's gonna be very interesting and very chaotic.

King- Describe your ideal day.

My ideal day is just a chill day. I'm a bit of a workaholic when I'm not procrastinating, so a laid back day would be nice.

Curses- How do you show affection? 

To be honest, I'm still working on this 😅 but I usually do things for the people I care about. Usually it's making them things or writing them songs.

The dance studio, hands down. That place is magical, and I love it so much!

I believe it can happen, but not for me because I'm not a huge fan of super rushed relationships. I personally need to know the person well before I develop feelings or commit to a relationship. For instance, I've known my current partner for 8 years, and the least amount of time I've known someone then dated them was 4 years 😅
