Amanda Feilding
heres why she's so cool.
Trepanation is a medieval surgical procedure where a circular part of the skull is cut out and believed to help achieve some sort of spiritual enlightening.
Amanda couldn't find a surgeon who was willing to do it for her, so she did it herself when she was 27. she survived it. She's like 84 and says that it worked. She filmed a documentary called 'Heartbeat in the Brain' that's kind of hard to find but you can fine parts of the film.
She's a research scientist who pro-psychedelics and for drug policy reform. she's the coolest and I think more people should know her.
