It’d been a stupid decision but at this point, he was getting to be known for stupid decisions. He was terribly good at messing up, unlike Cyrus who always seemed to have everything perfectly together. God, he was so jealous sometimes. It’d started off as joking between friends, he and a guard had arm wrestled then real wrestled. It wasn’t the guard's fault that he’d managed to land face down on the pavement. He wasn’t hurt too bad, his shirt was ripped, his nose was bloody and he had a couple of bruises but if his father found out he’d be livid.
So he snuck back to his room as quietly as possible. His father probably wouldn’t even be awake at this time but better safe than sorry. There was no way he was going to risk his rather getting angry and firing one of his only friends.
As he turned the corner his father’s booming voice caught his attention. Fuck. He wouldn’t let him see him like this. He turned around, running to the only place he could think of and pounding on her door. “Amara!” he whispered as loudly as he could. Please be in here. Please be in here. At the doors opening, he barged inside. “Close the door. Close the door please!” he whispered, the urgency apparent in his voice. I’m so sorry,” he explained. “It’s an emergency otherwise I wouldn’t have come without warning you.”
