Clearly, their first meeting was based on one of the most unusual possibilities ever - and yet, Gaara did not regret walking down that particular street, observing that particular incident that brought them together finally.

Sasori is the first not-family-related person in a long period of time that was able to wake deeper feelings - such as trust - in the younger redhead. He got used to him unusually quick and hates the fact they have to part as often as they do. If it would be up to Gaara, they would spend far more time together.

At last, after a couple of months seeing each other, the student came to realize that his feeling for the older redhead evolved even further, though he hesitated to put them into words at first. It needed another bit of time for him to comprehend that he had fallen in love with Sasori.

Gaara's hand froze in midmotion. He had been brushing his fingertips over Sasori's cheek, intending to lean in for a kiss. Now he blinked in confusion, trying to comprehend what the other had just said. He did not believe his ears.

Gaara had never expected Sasori to say those words. Never.

But there they were and he had to blink once again, struggling to not let his mouth fall agape. His pulse sped up and soon he could hear his blood rush in his ears. Did he imagine this...? No, he was almost sure. The younger did not see his lips move or anything that could have hinted at the verbalization of emotion, but he was sure he heard it...

He tried to swallow the knot in his throat, because once he had given himself a promise: He would not ever use those words if they had not been used by someone else - his special someone else - first. Being absolutely sure about how he felt for the older redhead, there was no time needed to reconsider; it was just the realization that needed time.

A few seconds passed, but finally he leaned into him for that kiss he had intended in the first place - and as he pulled back green orbs were definietely filled with happiness where his voice was only a whisper.
