Part 2

Ship: Amarelocus (Latin for love and space)
Crew: 6/8 (You, Captain Ramos, Marcus, Maria (dead), Aaron, Jake (dead), Amy, and Stephen)
Your captain grabs a gun and offers one to both you and Stephen. With reluctance you accept but Stephen gladly accepts.
"If Jake and Maria are really dead than I want payback." Stephen growls. "I want to even the playing field."
"Y/N, do you know how to use a gun?" Asks Ramos.
"Yes. Of course I do. But I don't normally use them. As a scientist I have no real need." You admit.
"Well as a man with military training, I can promise I will have your back." He smiles.
With a chuckle you thank him. Back into serious mode. You all gear up and head out on high alert. What a rocky and dry place it is. Dark and gloomy. With the thin low layer of mist, it really makes for a horror movie scene. The three of you follow the trail left by Maria, Jake, and Marcus. As you walk you take notice of some bright green substance. You go closer and stare at it. You put on a glove and touch it. It seems to be some sort of liquid, similar to the viscosity of blood. Then you remember. The creature is bleeding. So, this must be its blood. A very bright green blood. You turn your head up and call out to the other two. But they're gone. Out of sight. They probably didn't notice that you stopped. You call out to them even louder. No reply. Now what? You can't just go running blindly into the now heavily mist covered rocky terrain. How did the mist come so fast. First thing's first, take a sample of the blood. Done. Now to find your way back or to captain Ramos and Stephen. You call for them as loud as you can. A distant reply. Then something moves nearby. A shout. A scream. Gunshots. A roar mixed with shouting and screaming. Then silence.
No other sound except the seemingly deafening sound of your hearbeat and your shallow breathing. You notice three red lines pointing towards you. You move to the side to get a better angle but the lines move with you, as if you're being tracked. The sudden realization hits you like a truck and causes you to dive down to the ground as something explodes behind you. Rubble lands on you and you crawl towards a pile of rocks. You press against it and try to quiet your breathing. You hear something hit the ground behind you with a hard thud. Then heavy footsteps slowly come towards you. You slowly shift around the rock pile, opposite of the sounds. The footsteps stop at where the rock was exploded. You crawl towards different larger rocks and press up against them as quiet as you can, keeping yourself opposite of your hunter. No more footsteps. You get up and as quietly as you can you head in the opposite direction of the sounds. Then you hear the stomping coming. You burst into a full tilt run.
Running right towards a cliff. When you realize, you stop and step back. The stomping is coming closer. You look and see a massive humanoid shape bounding towards you. You look down. Look back. Down. You'd rather die a sudden death then a painful shouting one. You jump.
Down.
Down.
Down you fall.
Right into water.
With a hard splash and a painful sting you are submerged. Nothing you can't handle. Going up and taking a gulp of air, swimming to the barely visible shore seems to be best. As you crawl onto land there is a hard splash behind you. Fear causes the adrenaline to surge through your veins, propelling you towards and behind a fallen tree then down into a ditch.
The splashing of something big walking onto land. You peek through the branches of the fallen tree and see your pursuer.
Nothing you could imagine. But something of pure rugged beauty.
