"How you feeling?"
Nico glances up; the motion more slow and lazy than usual. He shrugs. “Peachy despite all this,” he gestures to the various medical equipment that is hooked up to him. “But I’ll survive. Kinda known for it.”

"How you feeling?"
Nico glances up; the motion more slow and lazy than usual. He shrugs. “Peachy despite all this,” he gestures to the various medical equipment that is hooked up to him. “But I’ll survive. Kinda known for it.”
"Right, right, defend your castle."
“You make it sound like a chore,” said Nico from where he stood. The forest was typically packed in with towering trees but he had managed to find a nice circle of ground covered with a layer of dead leaves and dark earth. Perfect place to raise some skeletal warriors to aid them today. “At least sound a little excited. Don’t you want our side to win this match?”
It was that time of week again in Camp Half-Blood. All of the year-rounders in had been gathered at the forest for another violent and competitive round of Capture the Flag; team leaders had been picked, alliances brokered, and friendships had been torn down and built up - all for the sake of bragging rights.
And, of course, some “training”, but mostly for bragging rights.
"The piano isn't evil, it's just unpleasant to hear when I'm touching it."
“Just own up to the fact that you can’t play piano, Wilcox, even if your life depended on it,” said Nico as he cautiously checks both of his ears for hearing damage. Honestly, he didn’t even know such a shrill sour shriek could even sound from a piano.
A violin? Sure. A piano? No.
Then again, demigods tend to have that habit of making the impossible possible.
What are you doing?
12. Picking up flowers
Nico freezes mid-pick. His head swivels toward Amata’s direction, face as red as Rachel Elizabeth Dare’s curls.
“Nothing,” he says, stiffly, and abruptly, standing upright as he helplessly hid the (wilted) flowers that he had already picked behind his back. “I was doing absolutely nothing.”
"Talk to me."
“About what?” He glares at her from where he sat on the steps of his cabin. Shadows curled around him, almost protectively. “About the quest that I was just on? The one that failed miserably and cost the lives of the two demigods that I was with?”
He scowls, hands balled into tight fists. “I’d rather not.”

A starter with 31?
Nico wasn’t much for lies. In fact, he detested them. He had been on the receiving end of so many for so long; words that were sweet and promising and poisonous all the same. Which was why he did his best to avoid lying - he always strove to be honest.
But it doesn’t always work out. The occasional lie still slipped from his mouth. Especially now as he slips away from his friends, the lie of “I’m fine” fresh on his lips (the most common one he ever utters), and makes his way to the camp’s amphitheater.
It was empty - he knew. The perfect place for him to sit and think and deal with the news that has slowly spread through camp like Greek Fire.
"If I'm ever in a coma, it's going to be your job to read me bedtime stories every night. And if you ever read me anything other than Harry Potter, I'll die just so I can haunt you." (I'm sorry you didn't post this but I wanted to use it 😀)
Nico looks at her, eyebrows raised with slight bewilderment. “That’s…strangely specific of you,” he says, surprised that Amata would start up such a topic out of the blue. “Does this mean that even if I finish reading the entire series to you, I’ll have to read from the first book all over again?”
