Why was Danish girl so bad? I thought it did a good job considering time period.

It altered Lili Elbe’s life story in ways that were fundamentally damaging to trans women (esp intersex trans women, when Lili Elbe being intersex was erased utterly from the depiction)

It had some weird fetishizing sexualized crap in it, it fucked up the dynamic between Gerda and Lili and of course it had to end in a dramatic death (even though Lili lived a long time before dying from complications from another surgery)

It was the substandard traditional pain porn about trans women (just written in an earlier time period) by a cis dude who cast another cis dude to play a trans woman.

So you know, the normal sort of terrible shit we’re used to.

(im pretty sure this is about the comment i made on that map of the best U.S. roadtrip map) i mean making stops in places in the south will get you mean looks and who knows what might happen if ur a poc tbh like ofc someone who is white wouldnt have to worry about where they stop in the us but when i was a kid i remember visiting parts of the U.S. and ppl would glare at me for no reason???/ it felt bad and awkward, and i was literally like 7, im js like its not about being mugged its just about wanting to have a good time on vacation and a lot of times you might not be able to cause of racism thats just present in the state itself that might make you feel unsafe or uncomfortable, so it would be nice to have a roadtrip where that wouldnt happen and ud just have a good time and thats it
