Todays sweets for Sidestep is for Lenore Becerra done by the wonderful @amatres

I really like their artstyle. And thank you for trying to bring back the noir style. I feel like it’s such a dying art. I love the fashion, the music. Plus the cheesy 80’s black and white films are so fun to watch. I love the way she does her tattoos and markings. Plus the inspiration behind Lenore’s name is such a sweet and somber touch. I feel like it’s fits pretty well to the books themes.

I decided to keep it simple today. With Chocolate cupcakes. And totally not because I’ve kept screwing up. It’s chocolate cupcake, made with instant espresso. Which fun fact. Adding a little bit of weaker coffee, actually makes the chocolate flavor stronger. If you want more of a coffee taste; you need a really, really really, really strong coffee to add to the batter. And for the frosting I went with a lighter, semi sweet frosting. Made of chocolate ganache.

This is actually the third attempt of sweets for sidestep I’ve done this week. The first one was my fault. I made a dish, and didn’t tell my family I wanted to take pictures. The dish was all gone when I came out of the bathroom. And then; I tried two days ago, to do Lenores dish. Because I had the day off. But im in the middle of renovation and packing stuff out. But I was stressed, and had a sweet craving. So I thought a chocolate Bundt cake would be really nice and quick to pop out. I didn’t mix it throughly, plus I also didn’t let cool enough. And no amount of frosting and glaze was going to hold that thing together.

14: What is something they unashamedly adore?

You probably already know this answer, but it’s plovers. She likes them because they’re cute, and tiny, and very vulnerable—there’s something about them that just tugs at the heart she pretends she doesn’t have! She spends weekends watching them, and keeping people and their dogs away from their breeding grounds <3

35: What do they smell like?

Sierra smells like cigarette smoke, and men’s 3-in-1 soap, and men’s deodorant. The woodsy kind. She doesn’t wear cologne, so that’s as close as she gets, lol.

11. Who do they feel safest with, if anyone? You will I'm sure be shocked to hear this, but it's Daniel. 100% it's Danny by a mile. Partially because he's so sweet and good to her but mostly because he gives her that constant access to his brain. She knows him in ways she's never known anyone else (even with people whose brains she could get into she mostly didn't because she knew they didn't want her doing that and even aside from her moral qualms it's not fun being in the brain of someone who's furious with you), which means she can trust him in a way she's never been able to trust another person. Even pre-Heartbreak she was never able to trust anyone the way she can trust Danny now, and after? She didn't think she could ever get close to this level of trust. (It's a good thing Daniel by all evidence will remain a good sweet guy who cares deeply for Sidestep—at least as long as they don't go full massacre—because if he betrayed Morgan I genuinely think it would break her beyond any hope of recovery.)

18. What does victory look like to them? Honestly? She has no idea. She wants the Farm to go down in flames, but outside of that it's all kind of a blur. Yeah, she's not really expecting? to survive this? Dying isn't the plan, but survival isn't really the plan either. A small but meaningful distinction! She says. (This is one of those things that's really subject to change since we haven't actually learned what Sidestep's plan... is yet.)

34. How do they react to being flirted with? It depends. With an established romantic partner or a friend she knows doesn't expect anything from her she'll flirt back; she enjoys flirting as long as she knows that everyone involved knows where they stand. People are actually surprised by just how flirty she can get, especially with Ortega. Post-Heartbreak she's grumpier about it, but she'll still usually flirt back as long as there's nothing more important to focus on. However if someone outside the category of "established romantic partner or friend she knows doesn't expect anything from her" flirts with her she will get out of that conversation so fast. In her Sidestep days she straight up hid behind various Rangers and associates on multiple occasions because someone tried to flirt with her. During the actual games she's more likely to send the unfortunate flirter packing with either some sharp words or a telepathic blast to the brain (depending on how aggressive they are about it).

it's a very small question, but what do you think will become of jeyne westerling, if anything? i get curious about her and if she will ever show up again or if we'll ever know what became of her, especially bc she got replaced in the show so we can't even gleam somewhat of grrm's plans for her, if there is any.

i think about this literally all the time every single day. i worry that she'll be killed right in the opening of the winds of winter, a victim of the brotherhood's more ruthless outlook, believed to have been in on sybell's plans and/or just being an innocent bystander caught up in all the violence. There is also the idea that potentially Raynald survived and joined the Brotherhood, and they will be reunited but that feels maybe a little too optimistic to me? And then you have her namsake, Jeyne Westerling, who tragically died in childbirth of suspicious magical interference, which makes me worry that it's being foreshadowed Jeyne will die because of LSH. I like to believe she's going to stick around with LSH, being used as a pawn of sorts, potentially until Arya gets tehre and breaks the whole thing up but I have a hard time sorting out my own wishes from what I think is likely to happen because....I want her to be okay lol. I really like the idea of her meeting Sansa - one woman who he fought for, and one woman who he abandoned.

I do think there's some interesting patterns with the prologues going wall/Famous Southron Seat/wall/Famous Southron Seat/wall. If we keep with that pattern, I think that would put the Spicers and Jeyne at a castle rather than on the road like people tend to guess. I'm hoping that means we get to see Casterly Rock but also....imo every fortress we get that is called "impregnable" is gonna get very pregnated which also doesn't bode well for Jeyne. But again it could just be that she's kidnapped rather than out and out killed, and if she's kidnapped....I think there might be more of a shot of her living to the end? I have seen that maybe the Westerlings become the next Wardens of the West (they did used to be Kings!), so her being at Casterly Rock when it's taken, kidnapped by the Brotherhood, and kept as a pawn, then ending as Wardeness and/or helping get a brother installed as Warden (with Sybell and her brother ultimately being the ones to take the fall with the Brotherhood) could be a fun ending for the Westerling-Spicer clan!
