heya! its mellow!!! been a while I HOPE YOURE DOING WELL (sorry an evil grasshopper attacked youre lovley plant)
ok so idk if this maybe spoilers for chapter 5? or not??? but im gunna go for it anyways here
i wanted to pop in and ask…idk if i remember correctly but i kinda recall idk if you did though. had a post somewhere talking about youre waterpark boys, having something to do with how they sorta view things with yn being back???? i couldnt find the og post…so im bringing this up here :P
i dont recall exact deets im going off my wack memory and just rambling here a tad but…
what i mean is (this is especially fun to think of when reading the latest chapters)
is that sun (at least to me) seems to LIKE to think of the FUTURE and tries focusing on all the fun stuff n such, now that yns back. (we clearly know hes not to fond of dwelling on the past)
where as moon (again at least to me) LIKES to think of the PAST, you know nostalgia kinda? reminisce on the childhood friendship the 3 of ya had . BUT HERE COMES THE IRONIC TWIST im seeing now… sun despite his wanting to focus on the NOW hes kinda actually STUCK IN THE PAST. as well as literally (cough when yn went running off cough) and figuratively struggling to let go or well accept changes easily.
and as for moon while he cherishes the past…hes actually looking more to the future in a way. or more accepting of the future/change? Specifically, him coming to terms, as you said, letting things go, knowing it won't be the same as it was. IRONICALLY MORE FUTURE ORIENTED ME THINKS… but anyway thats my random midday over analysis…do what you will with thiiissssss!!! im hoping to get clarification? answers??? cuz idk if i did remember this mention of sun thinking of the future and moon thinking of the past thing right? or if my brain made this connection on its own while reading the fic. i rly have no clue, either way just thought this was neat to bring up :D
HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD DAY/NIGHT <3
First! I am doing so well thank you :D also
Second, @mellowmoonbun I also kinda recall talking about that somewhere, but being so for real, I looked through the entire Waterpark au tag and couldn’t find it anywhere (at least if it’s lost forever its essence is sprinkled throughout the story, as you’ve caught on)
You are correct, Sun has spent his whole life working on building a better future for himself and the people he loves. He loves work, he loves seeing the fruits of his labor, he wants so desperately to keep/build a paradise that makes everyone happy, to fix every problem the world throws his way. But he can’t fix everything, he can’t bring back what’s out of his control. Yet Sun won’t accept that, despite working and working constantly he is only chasing butterflies that will always be just out of his grasp.
Yep! Moon is very nostalgic and does love to reminisce the past but he doesn’t get lost in it, very accepting of its conclusion and pulls much of his focus/attention in the present. (That’s what matters to him, the now) but as we’ve seen things tend to catch up and now all of a sudden you have to rediscover just how much has changed and decide for yourself what that means for your future and how you choose to feel about it. This is one of my favorite quotes from the story/ that first spark for Moon that the past is now present and can be a possible future: “We never stop growing and changing.” Moon then looks to you, his eyes rest heavy like he’s only now taking you in. You’re not sure if his eyes linger longingly for the face he once remembered or for a different reason entirely, but It sends a fluttering warmth across your face. He mutters, “I find that wonderful.”
(I tried to condense it, If you want more I actually have a deep dive analysis thing for Sun, Moon and Y/N. It’s just very messy and wordy because it was originally just for myself to get out and written) would just have to go through it and make sure there’s no spoilers because sheeeet have I had plans for this au from the beginning.
