i think cas reads to his flowers sometimes. dean gives him book suggestions (lots of vonnegut and burgess, but also some kerouac and Maybe even a poetry book that he INSISTS is sams but cas Knows it’s deans)

he absolutely reads to his flowers. he read online that positive energy and talking to plants helps them grow so he does it every day despite the fact that there is no scientific evidence backing it up (sam INSISTS that it’s fake and tries to tell Cas as much but dean tells him to shut up). dean absolutely gives him a poetry book and what gives away the fact that it IS in fact dean’s are the dog-eared pages and all the notes scribbled in the margins, almost unreadable. cas spends most of the day trying to decipher dean’s thoughts on the poems rather than actually reading the poems to his flowers
