The Principality of Zeon is a corrupt fascist state whose ruling family and military’s entire regalia, eugenics, and crimes against humanity literally scream they are “Imperial Japan and Nazis in Space!”

The Federation also being a corrupt Empire, token good (for a value of good) Zeon officers, Spacenoid Independence/Laplace Box should not be used as arguments to whitewash Zeon. Neo - Zeon is the equivalent of Neo - Nazis in the Gundam universe who continue to commit crimes like dropping colonies and committing unethical human experiments in the name of returning the nation to its former “glory.”

Gqux is a show set in an alternate universe where Zeon won the OYW and disabuses the notion their victory would ensure a utopia.

Sure, Space colonies and spacenoids have achieved autonomy from the Earth Federation, but neutral colonies are in a cold war with Zeon to the point of arming themselves with mobile suits in case Zeon tries to turn their sights on conquering them. It’s explicitly said Zeon’s economy is still in the red five yeaes after the OYW with the Zabi family stuck in a succession crisis that almost escalates to galaxy wide genocide and another civil war.

Also despite Sayla taking the throne to lead Zeon better than the Zabi family, her coronation is not depicted in a positive light with the dark setting and imperial decorations still up on the Zabi palace and she knows it. The path ahead of Sayla’s rule will be long and dauntingly hard.

My nuanced take on Zeon is that it’s not completely bad nor good but the Principality itself was a fascist corrupt evil state because of its leaders and fans should take note of that instead of unironically celebrating Zeon and shouting “Sieg Zeon!”

The photos picked for Char’s wiki page does accurately depict the phases of his life from a confident college aged overachiever to a guy in his mid - 20s reinventing himself to a depressed thirty year old doing a job he hates but believes is necessary.

The book end of Ncuti Gatwa’s run as the Fifteenth Doctor is nothing short of infuriating. His regenaration preceded by David Tennant, a white actor who played a popular iteration of the Doctor and succeeded by Billie Piper, a white actress who played a popular companion, after a short run of stories that focused more on nostalgia pandering and racist misogynistic writing that didn’t dwell on its implications under the cloak of “liberal progression.” Ncuti showed time and time again he had capability to carry the show for more than one series - three seasons and specials just like his predecessors - and made history as the first Black queer actor to play the Doctor but no RTD wasted him to play with his favorite old toys.

I think would be fun if another game comes out and lets us see an interaction between Shanoa and Leon, especially when they have quotes like this:
