Mara is smart and sensible, Nina is more reckless and spontaneous, they would get to know each other so well to the point where Mara's finger on the back of Nina's hand would mean "cool down, think this through before you jump in" and Nina would convince Mara to be a little more spontaneous, to jump a little more and give a leap of faith, to "trust me, because I love you" and like they would just get each other so much better than any of their other love interests got each other and would learn to live their lives around hand signals and eye contact like they would be one of those couples that wouldn't even have to talk to each other to know exactly what the other was thinking, and would be able to sit in comfortable silence at the dinner table just enjoying each other's company because they know each other that well
