Hannah drabble time because Laura gave me feels

A scholarship.

She reads the letter over and over again, her eyes boring into it, the smile on her face widening with each word. Finally, she giggles with pleasure and clutches the piece of paper to her chest, gets up off her bed and spins around her room a million times, turning on her favorite song and blasting it, dancing and laughing and spinning.

She's free. 

She's free, and the word catches like a bullet in her chest, as she whispers it to herself over and over again, until it starts to sound funny on her tongue. "Free. Free. Free, free, free, free, free. Free."

"Turn that racket down!" Her father calls sternly from outside her bedroom, knocking on her door furiously. Hannah frowns, and turns the music down anyway, because who really cares anymore? She'll be out of here in the fall, off to this fancy boarding school. 

"Dad, I'm celebrating," she replies, swinging the door open and looking up at her father. "I got that scholarship, for that fancy school! Can I go?"

Her mother, from the other end of the hallway, snorts. "You? A scholarship? I hardly believe that."

Her father shook his head. "Let me see that. What the hell did you do to impress them?"

Hannah shrugged, handing him the letter. "They described me as 'A bright and intuitive young student with impressive academic achievements that we would be delighted to have in our midst', she states proudly. And now, noticing the signature at the bottom of the page, signed a Mr. Fabian Rutter, she smiles, and reminds herself to thank the principal in person when she gets the chance.  

Her father rolls his eyes, and her mother, from across the hallway, shouts again, "You're none of those things. Your marks are terrible."

Hannah sighs, biting back the retort on her tongue. "Well, maybe, but it hardly matters, as long as I..."

"Okay, I guess you can go," her father mumbles. "It'd be nice to have some peace and quiet around here."

"I'm the quietest person in this house," Hannah replies. 

"Only cause we have to yell at you."

"You don't have to yell at me."

"You wouldn't listen otherwise."

"Well," Hannah snatches the letter from her father's hands and retreats back inside her room. "Now I won't have to."

oh my god. although yeah that would be a pain because i automatically tag people in things and you’d have to go through that tag to see things.

yess and i mean i already track the tag so it wouldn't be that bad but i feel like people would be annoying going through the peddie tag and seeing all my stuff lol.
