Ambitious Advice | Lillie & Green

Lillie hurried along the the path to the Battle Tree, head down to avoid catching the eyes of any more Trainers. She had declined a few challenges already, explaining that she was only here to spectate battles and not participate in them. She felt bad denying them the chance to show their skills, although she supposed it wouldn't be very interesting for them to completely crush her.
By the time she reached the Battle Tree itself, she could hear several fights underway on the platforms twisting around the trunk. The Trainers called attacks and counter-attacks one after another, the battles’ pace flying by much faster than she was used to. When she paused in her hike up the tree to watch one, she could hardly follow the action, only able to discern what was happening when the Pokemon pulled apart to be switched out.
Lillie circled around the ramps connecting the battling areas to get a view of each of the competitors. She wasn’t entirely sure what the person she was here to meet looked like. Kukui had said he was one of the more experienced Trainers at the Battle Tree, so she guessed that he’d be facing off challengers in one of the higher platforms.
Sure enough, after climbing a few more ramps, she heard the announcement she was waiting for. “And now, Rising Star Aaron versus Battle Legend Green!” As she rounded the corner and caught sight of the Trainers, Lillie felt a sudden rush of recognition. She might not have remembered him when Kukui brought up his name, but he still looked quite similar to his picture in the Kanto travel brochures she had read over and over again as a child. The Viridian Gym Leader, defeated Kanto’s Elite Four at a young age — he was that Green. She was surprised Kukui hadn’t thought to mention any of his accomplishments outside of his position at the Battle Tree. Lillie watched the fight intently, and walked towards the center of the platform once it was over.
"Excuse me, Mr. Green!" she called, waving an arm to catch his attention. "Do you have a moment? I've been having some trouble with my Kanto gym challenge and Professor Kukui recommended that I talk with you." She wasn't sure whether he'd recognize Kukui's name or not. Maybe she should have mentioned the Masked Royal instead, although that title probably had more weight at the Battle Royal than here.
