Ambrose replaced Coffee By the Books, the bookstore for the Fuller Theological Seminary. The bookstore moved and Ambrose now occupies the entire space. It means there’s a lot more space to sit but for some reason, most of the room is just empty. They could fit so many more chairs and tables inside. The décor is dated and the furniture is old, but they did upgrade the food and drinks.

They carry baked goods (croissants, cake, Danish, scones, bagels) from Bread Lounge. I spotted grab and go sandwiches and salads. The sandwiches are made with Bread Lounge bread.

For coffee, they use Copa Vida beans. I’m not a fan of Copa Vida’s coffee. They have drip coffee, espresso drinks and teas.

* Ambrosia latte: This was a fancy latte with honey, dried rose petals, and activated charcoal. The coffee flavor was too weak for me but they were careful about making the latte. There wasn’t enough charcoal to make the drink look that different.

The free wifi was fast and secure. The password was posted by the register. It was very quiet inside. Even people who were talking spoke softly. The music was quiet too.

They’re closed on weekends. Earn free coffee (I think) with their rewards program.
