Summary:
Pink and Tenna were getting closer. A lot closer. Spamton had a lot of complicated feelings about that, most of which he didn’t really want to think about. He just knew he wanted to separate them.
So, he came up with a plan.

Neptune walks through the halls of The Ministry, heading back to his room for one reason or another.
he passed by an unfamiliar door and stopped before taking a few steps back and stopping to examine the door.
the ghoul was confused for a moment before remembering Rain telling him about a newer ghoul in The Ministry.
he felt like he wouldnt bother them for now to let them settle in a little longer and turned to continue walking back to his chamber.

Ambrose wasn't sure how long it had been since Rain had left for practice. It felt like a long time, but in reality, they could've been playing with their bat plushy for only 5 minutes. Even so, the sound of footsteps in the hall made their ears prick up.
Through the gap in the doorframe, they glimpsed a ghoul they hadn't met yet (though in all honesty, they were yet to meet the majority of the pack).
Ambrose watched him leave, weighing up their options: they could wait for Rain to do the talking for them... or could introduce themselves.
They rolled off their new bed and pattered into the hall, clutching their plushy close. And, mind made up, Ambrose pushed down their nerves and knocked on the door he'd disappeared into.
(Zhel: omg hi! never done this before so i hope i got it right. And i love the idea of Neptune helping Ambrose get used to the Ministry! also sorry it took a while for me to respond. I was in school when I got your ask and my draft didn't save)
Because I don’t trust anyone to really write that happening and also it would re-solidify that era of RHatO as canon and everyone is better off without that if we’re being honest. (Or they’d have to retcon just about all of RHatO and RH:O, which honestly is somewhat more likely considering how often they sorta restart Jason at square one over and over) However! From a non-meta perspective, I absolutely would love it.
I’m a huge fan of civilian x vigilante relationships within the cape genre and I really liked Isabel! (squinting through L*bell’s shite misogynist writing) She’s such an interesting character because while a lot of her characterization is, again, written through His writing, she comes out the other end as this super quirky and odd civilian with a crazy daredevil streak and stubborn headstrong temperament that actually complimented Jason and the Red Hood life pretty well! Most notably in Red Hood: Outlaw during Jason’s Prince of Gotham era. Jason in particular I feel is really hard to write a romance for, mostly for the fact that DC hasn’t actually known what to do with him for decades leaving his character to sorta restart every other storyline, but also because he’s not a hero and his morals (while ever changing these days /neg) tend to clash with most of the population.
Isabel is (shockingly) written pretty well in that regard in which her near ambivalence towards Jason killing people doesn’t feel out of place coming from her. They balanced each other out in a way I absolutely would’ve loved to see explored further and deeper; Jason’s lifestyle and general personality gives Isabel that excitement and wild experience and life she craves, and Jason himself says Isabel is grounding in a way very few people have been to him. They’re cute and I miss them!
(Also due to trying to write Jason as this stone cold lone wolf and trying to juxtapose Roy’s new womanizer personality (I’m SO sorry Roy fans) he comes across as quite asexual and generally uninterested in that sort of relationship, but that’s another conversation)
Do I think she’ll ever come back? No. Maybe if they get someone who really loves Jason and has read all his stuff to write him, but she did have a cameo in Gotham Knights tho meaning someone out there is thinking of her so who knows!
okay this isnt generally my kinda post, and im terribly late to the game, but its been DRIVNG ME CRAZY that i keep seeing people complain (not just say their personal experience, i mean ive seen actual complaints all over tiktok where people explicitly say their complaint is) that they were surprised by the vampire reveal in Sinners, even if they knew vampires were involved, or that the reveal was too sudden, etc.
my dudes, Sinners has basically the same plot progression as The Lost Boys for the entire first third of the movie.
And most other vampire movies of the 80s-2000s, really, but i know specifically The Lost Boys best. obv the plots are not identical! The Lost Boys pretends to be a teen romance /kid mystery movie of the 80s. sinners pretends to be a historical (1930s) mobster sort of film. nor are they anywhere similar in length: The Lost Boys is 97m incl credits, and Sinners is 138m incl credits. however! the point at which the plot turns from what each movie is pretending to be, into a vampire movie, is at the same progression level as each other, and about the same percentage into the movie as each other. (again, not the same amount of time- Sinners is significantly longer). If anything, Sinners reveals to the audience that its about vampires quicker than The Lost Boys does.

Sinners dedicates a huge chunk of space to just letting the music breathe (you know The Scene in Sinners I'm talking about), where The Lost Boys plays music over montages and scenes and also takes place over a longer time frame.
Sinners has a much larger cast than The Lost Boys.
The Lost Boys is much more action focused, and Sinners is more horror focused. horror requires lingering, action needs to keep moving

anyway, tldr: if you watch any vampire movies ever, there should NOT have been any surprise on the plot progression in Sinners c': im begging some of yall to research genres before you comment on them. begging. there's tons of callbacks to other vampire media in Sinners, and i'm sure there's posts out there breaking those down. this post was just me getting my feelings out bc my fiance is affectionately sick of hearing me rag on about this lmao.
i just spent near a solid hour just talking with my mom about doctor who, well- talking to her about doctor who. she was just listening to me,
it started by me going in to tell her about my progress for my doctor who reacts fic and then it just exploded from there as i told her about a list i'm compiling (won't say What it is just that it's doctor who) and then i just rambled on and on about doctor who and it being queer and the characters + relationships
and then i started talking about headcanons and such. and i ended up explaining to her what 't4t' meant since she didn't know and yeah- it was just really nice to be able to do that
what if i told you guys i was working a fic where ango is picked up by mori instead of taneda and they cause actual hell against their enemies together but ango also slowly becomes worse and worse and basically he kinda is like dazai and they r moris trauma children in this au btw <3 instead of Q its ango basically this fic is gonna be so good i hope i can maintain intrest long enough to atleast finish it
