hiya! @zhelday here! I'm the mod for this sideblog.

Ambrose is my oc and this is my first dabble in rp so at the time of posting this i really dont know what im doing. pls interact and send in asks!

Ambrose is a pretty young summon and have a bit much energy to be cooped up in the den but theyre a sweetie, really.

They've bonded to Aether and Rain the most so it might be 'Aether said this' and 'Rain said that' because Ambrose trusts them the most.

tags will be Ambrose talks for any Ambrose rp and Zhel speaks for anything I have to add/say. Likewise, Ambrose will be in purple text, with mod Zhel in orange.

Hello!

I'm Ambrose and I'm quintessence ghoul.

Mod Zhel is helping me put this together.

I am still learning to talk. Rain and Aether help me.

Can't go on tour. Omega said no. That it's not safe for me because I can't talk properly but I'm going to prove him wrong.

I am starting to learn guitar but i like bass more. Hopefully I'll be joining a future tour!

Frater Imperator summoned me. He's scared of me, I think. Haven't seen him since my summoning. Something about the belltower ringing out of time when I was summoned. That's what the pack is saying.

Oh and Cirrus made me a bat plushy and it's my favourite!

“Netue?” They asked, grabbing their tail and batting their lashes at him. “Fater Impeta go with Doo to city.”

They’d overheard Dew telling Aether that he was going into town with Copia to run a few errands; the mention of places outside the den, and the Ministry piquing the little ghoul’s interest.

“We go to city too? Den boring. City sound fun!”

Ambrose gave a defeated sigh, none too happy with Neptune's suggestion. They should've seen it coming, really.

“Okay." They nodded, seeing no use in fighting. “We ask.”

Neptune walked alongside Ambrose down the halls of The Ministry.

once the two had gotten to the den, Neptune walked around with Ambrose for a little longer before finally finding one of the ghouls the young ghoul was familiar with.

(you choose who it is because I kinda have no idea because I’m indecisive as hell lol)

Ambrose toddled ahead of Neptune, clutching their tail.

They had to choose carefully; as a ghoul who cared a lot, like Rain or Aether, they wouldn't be allowed to go. ask a ghoul who was more indifferent, like Dew, they had better chances.

They liked Aether and Rain as much as the two ghouls did them, but their protective nature meant they sometimes didn’t let Ambrose do certain things.

They pointed ahead, to a ghoul heading outside, ducking through the doorframe.

"Ask Moo?" [Mountain]

he passed by an unfamiliar door and stopped before taking a few steps back and stopping to examine the door.

the ghoul was confused for a moment before remembering Rain telling him about a newer ghoul in The Ministry.

he felt like he wouldnt bother them for now to let them settle in a little longer and turned to continue walking back to his chamber.

(hiiii twwiiiinnn...i saw your post in the community and i thought id send an ask :] I love the idea of my own OC possibly helping newer ghouls get used to The Ministry and was curious how him and yours would interact :D (your oc is also just very interesting to me in general))

Ambrose wasn't sure how long it had been since Rain had left for practice. It felt like a long time, but in reality, they could've been playing with their bat plushy for only 5 minutes. Even so, the sound of footsteps in the hall made their ears prick up.

Through the gap in the doorframe, they glimpsed a ghoul they hadn't met yet (though in all honesty, they were yet to meet the majority of the pack).

Ambrose watched him leave, weighing up their options: they could wait for Rain to do the talking for them... or could introduce themselves.

They rolled off their new bed and pattered into the hall, clutching their plushy close. And, mind made up, Ambrose pushed down their nerves and knocked on the door he'd disappeared into.

(Zhel: omg hi! never done this before so i hope i got it right. And i love the idea of Neptune helping Ambrose get used to the Ministry! also sorry it took a while for me to respond. I was in school when I got your ask and my draft didn't save)

the ghoul was about to change out of his uniform and into something else before hearing the knock on his door.

he pulled his (modified, his fins get damaged otherwise) mask over his face and walked to the door, standing up straight with his arms folded behind his back.

with one arm still folded behind his back, he used his other hand to open the door and greet his visitor.

"ah, hello little ghoul..!"

he said with a soft and kind expression (like smiling with his eyes closed or whatever) under his mask, tilting his head.

Ambrose couldnt help but startle a little as the door opened.

He’s tall Ambrose found themselves thinking (mind you, everyone was tall to Ambrose - they were only 96cm).

They waved their greeting, hiding behind their plushy. Their nose twitched, taking in his scent as they shuffled a little closer.

They chuffed, craning their neck to looking up at him and returning his smile, if a little shy. His energy was warm, inviting. Ambrose was just as curious about him as he seemed of them.

Ambrose sneezed, shaking their head so their ears flapped.

"hello," they mumbled, barely loud enough to hear.

the ghoul asked, opening his eyes and letting go of the door to crouch in front of Ambrose so they could see and hear him better.

Neptune was much taller than Ambrose, being over three feet taller than him.

(Neptune is 6'5, which i headcanon as an average height for ghouls, but obviously theres exceptions to that like Mist being significantly shorter than the other bandmates and Omega and Mountain being taller :])

“Hello,” Ambrose mumbled again, no less shy than before. It was the only word they knew that wasn’t a handful of name.

Ambrose held out their bat plushy in a bid to say ‘look what I have!” Watching this new ghoul for his reaction as they swayed on the spot.

“Am.” They chirruped more resolutely, pointing at themself. It was the little of their name they could say.

the water ghoul let out a small, muffled giggle at the ghoul (obviously not because he was making fun of them, he just thought they were cute), his tail wagging against the ground.

"alright Am...are you finding your way around The Ministry well..?"

he asked, while he didnt like making his voice lighter as he feared it made him sound feminine, he still did it to hopefully not intimidate the smaller ghoul.

(AMBROSE IS SO CUTE UNHOLY SHIT I WANNA MICROWAVE THEM /very pos)

Ambrose nodded, a grin breaking out across their face.

To answer his question even further, they began chittering and chirruping away. Though it was no more than gibberish noises, they were actually telling him about everything so far — all about their summoning, Eef helping them adjust Topside, Rus and Mu-Lu’s kindness, meeting Phan and realising that there were many quintessence ghouls in this pack (they were no longer an outlier!), Moo being a gentle giant and Rayee being their favourite.

They’d just about finished telling him everything when it dawned on them that he probably couldn’t understand a word they were saying.

And Ambrose fell quiet again.

"I understand..maybe we could find another way for you to tell me."

he said, resting his head on his palm with his elbow resting on his thigh, looking at the smaller ghoul compassionately.

Ambrose shook their head no, an idea coming to them.

Play together? They wanted to ask, making puppy eyes that always worked on Dew. Friends?

“Am.” They said again, pointing at themselves. Then they pointed at him, eyes bright, trying to say ‘I’m Ambrose. What’s your name?’

And without even waiting for a response, they took one of his fingers in their little hand and toddled down the corridor, chirping happily.

Ambrose turned back to him as the corridor opened into the rest of the den, realising he hadn’t introduced himself.

“Nam?” They asked, their tufted tail thumping against the wall. They hadn’t let go of his finger, so happy to have another friend. Except they didn’t know his name.

"oh..-! my name..?"

he asked, somewhat pointing to himself.

"ah, uh..my name is Neptune..! thats at least what my friend and I decided on a while ago.."

he answered, chuckling a little and rubbing the back of his neck.

Ambrose’s brow furrowed, focusing on all the sounds in his name.

“N… Nnn…” they tried, replaying how he’d said it in their mind. “Ne.. Ne.. Netue…? Netue!” They cried out in delight, having gotten as close as they could and jumping on the spot. “Netue Netue Netue!”

Neptune giggled at younger ghoul with delight, but was equally impressed that they were able to pronounce his name so well.

"good job little one..!"

he said, clapping his hands without requiring Ambrose to let go of his finger. (unless they already did idk..)

Ambrose trilled happily, doing a little twirl and looking back at Neptune with the utmost adoration.

He was their favourite now, too.

Rayee an’ Netue.

Rain treated them as if there were his kit— gentle, motherly and watchful, yet ever so doting. But in the short time theyd known him, Neptune already felt like an older brother.

Aether had been right. This new pack was indeed family.

Still, it would be a while until everyone else got back.

“Netue? Moo-vee?” (Movie) they asked, deliberate in their pronunciation. “Netue choose.”

sorry it’s taken forever to respond! My brain is fried from college :,) Also this gave me an excuse to watch the Lego movie again. Lwk forgot how fun this movie is.

Ambrose trilled happily, kicking their feet as the movie was set up and giggled it started.

They hissed at Lord Business, but fell silent soon after, entire attention focused on the movie. Completely rapt by it.

They fidgeted with the tip of their tufted tail, nuzzling into Neptune’s side, purring. They were cosy here — so cosy that if they were an air ghoul, their feathers would’ve puffed up in contentment.

Ambrose was so cosy and content and warm and happy that they felt a little sleepy, the sound of the movie fallen into the background.

“Netue…” they started, but sleep overtook their brain before they could finish.

it’s usually difficult for Neptune to smile, he normally results to forcing himself to (which isn’t much of an issue when he wears his mask all the time), but Ambrose was something that made him genuinely happy.

he gently wrapped his arm and tail around Ambrose, trying to keep himself from laying his tail’s full weight on them to hopefully make them more comfortable.

When Ambrose finally awoke, it was slow and sluggish but never more content. The movie was over, the tv dark and the den’s common room quiet.

They became aware of Neptune’s tail curled around them reassuringly — almost protectively— and an indescribably warm and fuzzy feeling bloomed in their chest. A feeling they couldn’t yet name.

With Neptune, there was none of the fussing that the rest of the pack seemed to have around Ambrose. No reluctance or hesitation upon their meeting. It simply… was. Their speech delay caused so much fuss amongst the pack it seemed that that was all they were reduced to. The Ghoul That Couldn’t Talk.

But here? A lazy day spent with Neptune? The universe felt right again.

Ambrose’s stomach gurgled grumpily, not having eaten since breakfast. They slid off the couch as quiet as they could, leaving their bat plushy in their place and toddled into the kitchen, knowing there were always fruit (and being a young quint ghoul, fruit was their main food source until their stomach could tolerate other food groups)

They tore into their mango, the juice oozing down their chin and hands, and, taking another slice for Neptune, they wandered back to the common room.

“Netue mago?” They asked, holding out a mango for him. “Am-b,” they started again, pointing at themselves with a sticky hand. “Happy.”

But what they really wanted to say was “I’m happy because I’m spending time with you.” Except they couldn’t find the right words. Or how to say it.

Neptune watched the small ghoul retreat to the kitchen to make sure that they were supervised, folding his hands in his lap and keeping his tail wrapped around the plushie.

when Ambrose returned and offered him the fruit he couldn’t help but smile again.

"aww, that’s very sweet of you to offer but unfortunately I don’t believe I’d be able to eat it at the moment…"

he said, moving his tail off of the plushie, trying to say it in a way that wouldn’t make the young ghoul sad.

"you see I’m not really supposed to remove my mask, and because of how old it is I’d have to take it off for me to eat anything.."

he tried to explain it to the best of his ability and not sound mean or like he didn’t appreciate it.

"..I’m glad you’re happy though."

he finished, smiling and tilting his head at Ambrose.

sorry this is kinda ass and late, I went thrifting to find stuff for my Perpetua cosplay and spent most of the day stressed because I accidentally spoiled Good Omens for myself lol

Food meant bonding, but so did numerous other things to quint ghouls.

On the subject of masks, Ambrose couldnt wait until they received their own.

They chirped, gently tapping Neptune’s silver mask with the tip of their claw, giggling at the sound it made.

“Ambr want one,”

If, should they get one, it would mean a great deal to the little ghoul — it would mean that Omega, as strict but fair as he was, had given them clearance to join a tour. It would mean that they could speak more clearly than a few mangled words.

But what they really wanted to ask was if it would be ok to try his on. Even for a moment.

Just to see what it was like.

the water ghoul's tail wagged happily behind him as he was tugged by the small quintessence ghoul.

Ambrose turned back to him as the corridor opened into the rest of the den, realising he hadn’t introduced himself.

“Nam?” They asked, their tufted tail thumping against the wall. They hadn’t let go of his finger, so happy to have another friend. Except they didn’t know his name.

he asked, somewhat pointing to himself.

"ah, uh..my name is Neptune..! thats at least what my friend and I decided on a while ago.."

Neptune giggled at younger ghoul with delight, but was equally impressed that they were able to pronounce his name so well.

Ambrose trilled happily, doing a little twirl and looking back at Neptune with the utmost adoration.

He was their favourite now, too.

Rain treated them as if there were his kit— gentle, motherly and watchful, yet ever so doting. But in the short time theyd known him, Neptune already felt like an older brother.

Aether had been right. This new pack was indeed family.

Still, it would be a while until everyone else got back.

“Netue? Moo-vee?” (Movie) they asked, deliberate in their pronunciation. “Netue choose.”

sorry it’s taken forever to respond! My brain is fried from college :,) Also this gave me an excuse to watch the Lego movie again. Lwk forgot how fun this movie is.

Ambrose trilled happily, kicking their feet as the movie was set up and giggled it started.

They hissed at Lord Business, but fell silent soon after, entire attention focused on the movie. Completely rapt by it.

They fidgeted with the tip of their tufted tail, nuzzling into Neptune’s side, purring. They were cosy here — so cosy that if they were an air ghoul, their feathers would’ve puffed up in contentment.

Ambrose was so cosy and content and warm and happy that they felt a little sleepy, the sound of the movie fallen into the background.

“Netue…” they started, but sleep overtook their brain before they could finish.

he gently wrapped his arm and tail around Ambrose, trying to keep himself from laying his tail’s full weight on them to hopefully make them more comfortable.

When Ambrose finally awoke, it was slow and sluggish but never more content. The movie was over, the tv dark and the den’s common room quiet.

They became aware of Neptune’s tail curled around them reassuringly — almost protectively— and an indescribably warm and fuzzy feeling bloomed in their chest. A feeling they couldn’t yet name.

With Neptune, there was none of the fussing that the rest of the pack seemed to have around Ambrose. No reluctance or hesitation upon their meeting. It simply… was. Their speech delay caused so much fuss amongst the pack it seemed that that was all they were reduced to. The Ghoul That Couldn’t Talk.

But here? A lazy day spent with Neptune? The universe felt right again.

Ambrose’s stomach gurgled grumpily, not having eaten since breakfast. They slid off the couch as quiet as they could, leaving their bat plushy in their place and toddled into the kitchen, knowing there were always fruit (and being a young quint ghoul, fruit was their main food source until their stomach could tolerate other food groups)

They tore into their mango, the juice oozing down their chin and hands, and, taking another slice for Neptune, they wandered back to the common room.

“Netue mago?” They asked, holding out a mango for him. “Am-b,” they started again, pointing at themselves with a sticky hand. “Happy.”

But what they really wanted to say was “I’m happy because I’m spending time with you.” Except they couldn’t find the right words. Or how to say it.

when Ambrose returned and offered him the fruit he couldn’t help but smile again.

"aww, that’s very sweet of you to offer but unfortunately I don’t believe I’d be able to eat it at the moment…"

he said, moving his tail off of the plushie, trying to say it in a way that wouldn’t make the young ghoul sad.

"you see I’m not really supposed to remove my mask, and because of how old it is I’d have to take it off for me to eat anything.."

he tried to explain it to the best of his ability and not sound mean or like he didn’t appreciate it.

"..I’m glad you’re happy though."

he finished, smiling and tilting his head at Ambrose.

sorry this is kinda ass and late, I went thrifting to find stuff for my Perpetua cosplay and spent most of the day stressed because I accidentally spoiled Good Omens for myself lol

On the subject of masks, Ambrose couldnt wait until they received their own.

They chirped, gently tapping Neptune’s silver mask with the tip of their claw, giggling at the sound it made.

If, should they get one, it would mean a great deal to the little ghoul — it would mean that Omega, as strict but fair as he was, had given them clearance to join a tour. It would mean that they could speak more clearly than a few mangled words.

But what they really wanted to ask was if it would be ok to try his on. Even for a moment.

"well..you see..with the release of the new album and the introduction of the new Papa...another tour, which is where the pack and Papa perform live concerts in many different places, was planned...so the ghouls need to prepare for it.."

he said, trying to explain the best he could.

Now they got the excitement surrounding it. It sounded so fun; getting to leave the den to play music.

I can help! They wanted to say. I can learn everything! Omega’s a meanie for making me stay in the den!

Neptune walks through the halls of The Ministry, heading back to his room for one reason or another.

he passed by an unfamiliar door and stopped before taking a few steps back and stopping to examine the door.

the ghoul was confused for a moment before remembering Rain telling him about a newer ghoul in The Ministry.

he felt like he wouldnt bother them for now to let them settle in a little longer and turned to continue walking back to his chamber.

(hiiii twwiiiinnn...i saw your post in the community and i thought id send an ask :] I love the idea of my own OC possibly helping newer ghouls get used to The Ministry and was curious how him and yours would interact :D (your oc is also just very interesting to me in general))

Ambrose wasn't sure how long it had been since Rain had left for practice. It felt like a long time, but in reality, they could've been playing with their bat plushy for only 5 minutes. Even so, the sound of footsteps in the hall made their ears prick up.

Through the gap in the doorframe, they glimpsed a ghoul they hadn't met yet (though in all honesty, they were yet to meet the majority of the pack).

Ambrose watched him leave, weighing up their options: they could wait for Rain to do the talking for them... or could introduce themselves.

They rolled off their new bed and pattered into the hall, clutching their plushy close. And, mind made up, Ambrose pushed down their nerves and knocked on the door he'd disappeared into.

(Zhel: omg hi! never done this before so i hope i got it right. And i love the idea of Neptune helping Ambrose get used to the Ministry! also sorry it took a while for me to respond. I was in school when I got your ask and my draft didn't save)

the ghoul was about to change out of his uniform and into something else before hearing the knock on his door.

he pulled his (modified, his fins get damaged otherwise) mask over his face and walked to the door, standing up straight with his arms folded behind his back.

with one arm still folded behind his back, he used his other hand to open the door and greet his visitor.

"ah, hello little ghoul..!"

he said with a soft and kind expression (like smiling with his eyes closed or whatever) under his mask, tilting his head.

Ambrose couldnt help but startle a little as the door opened.

He’s tall Ambrose found themselves thinking (mind you, everyone was tall to Ambrose - they were only 96cm).

They waved their greeting, hiding behind their plushy. Their nose twitched, taking in his scent as they shuffled a little closer.

They chuffed, craning their neck to looking up at him and returning his smile, if a little shy. His energy was warm, inviting. Ambrose was just as curious about him as he seemed of them.

Ambrose sneezed, shaking their head so their ears flapped.

"hello," they mumbled, barely loud enough to hear.

Neptune was much taller than Ambrose, being over three feet taller than him.

(Neptune is 6'5, which i headcanon as an average height for ghouls, but obviously theres exceptions to that like Mist being significantly shorter than the other bandmates and Omega and Mountain being taller :])

“Hello,” Ambrose mumbled again, no less shy than before. It was the only word they knew that wasn’t a handful of name.

Ambrose held out their bat plushy in a bid to say ‘look what I have!” Watching this new ghoul for his reaction as they swayed on the spot.

“Am.” They chirruped more resolutely, pointing at themself. It was the little of their name they could say.

the water ghoul let out a small, muffled giggle at the ghoul (obviously not because he was making fun of them, he just thought they were cute), his tail wagging against the ground.

"alright Am...are you finding your way around The Ministry well..?"

he asked, while he didnt like making his voice lighter as he feared it made him sound feminine, he still did it to hopefully not intimidate the smaller ghoul.

Ambrose nodded, a grin breaking out across their face.

To answer his question even further, they began chittering and chirruping away. Though it was no more than gibberish noises, they were actually telling him about everything so far — all about their summoning, Eef helping them adjust Topside, Rus and Mu-Lu’s kindness, meeting Phan and realising that there were many quintessence ghouls in this pack (they were no longer an outlier!), Moo being a gentle giant and Rayee being their favourite.

They’d just about finished telling him everything when it dawned on them that he probably couldn’t understand a word they were saying.

And Ambrose fell quiet again.

he felt like he wouldnt bother them for now to let them settle in a little longer and turned to continue walking back to his chamber.

Through the gap in the doorframe, they glimpsed a ghoul they hadn't met yet (though in all honesty, they were yet to meet the majority of the pack).

Ambrose watched him leave, weighing up their options: they could wait for Rain to do the talking for them... or could introduce themselves.

They rolled off their new bed and pattered into the hall, clutching their plushy close. And, mind made up, Ambrose pushed down their nerves and knocked on the door he'd disappeared into.

he said, resting his head on his palm with his elbow resting on his thigh, looking at the smaller ghoul compassionately.

Play together? They wanted to ask, making puppy eyes that always worked on Dew. Friends?

“Am.” They said again, pointing at themselves. Then they pointed at him, eyes bright, trying to say ‘I’m Ambrose. What’s your name?’

And without even waiting for a response, they took one of his fingers in their little hand and toddled down the corridor, chirping happily.

Neptune was startled by suddenly being pulled along but he quickly recovered and happily followed the young ghoul down the corridor.

the water ghoul's tail wagged happily behind him as he was tugged by the small quintessence ghoul.

Ambrose turned back to him as the corridor opened into the rest of the den, realising he hadn’t introduced himself.

“Nam?” They asked, their tufted tail thumping against the wall. They hadn’t let go of his finger, so happy to have another friend. Except they didn’t know his name.

Neptune walks through the halls of The Ministry, heading back to his room for one reason or another.

he passed by an unfamiliar door and stopped before taking a few steps back and stopping to examine the door.

the ghoul was confused for a moment before remembering Rain telling him about a newer ghoul in The Ministry.

he felt like he wouldnt bother them for now to let them settle in a little longer and turned to continue walking back to his chamber.

(hiiii twwiiiinnn...i saw your post in the community and i thought id send an ask :] I love the idea of my own OC possibly helping newer ghouls get used to The Ministry and was curious how him and yours would interact :D (your oc is also just very interesting to me in general))

Ambrose wasn't sure how long it had been since Rain had left for practice. It felt like a long time, but in reality, they could've been playing with their bat plushy for only 5 minutes. Even so, the sound of footsteps in the hall made their ears prick up.

Through the gap in the doorframe, they glimpsed a ghoul they hadn't met yet (though in all honesty, they were yet to meet the majority of the pack).

Ambrose watched him leave, weighing up their options: they could wait for Rain to do the talking for them... or could introduce themselves.

They rolled off their new bed and pattered into the hall, clutching their plushy close. And, mind made up, Ambrose pushed down their nerves and knocked on the door he'd disappeared into.

(Zhel: omg hi! never done this before so i hope i got it right. And i love the idea of Neptune helping Ambrose get used to the Ministry! also sorry it took a while for me to respond. I was in school when I got your ask and my draft didn't save)

the ghoul was about to change out of his uniform and into something else before hearing the knock on his door.

he pulled his (modified, his fins get damaged otherwise) mask over his face and walked to the door, standing up straight with his arms folded behind his back.

with one arm still folded behind his back, he used his other hand to open the door and greet his visitor.

"ah, hello little ghoul..!"

he said with a soft and kind expression (like smiling with his eyes closed or whatever) under his mask, tilting his head.

Ambrose couldnt help but startle a little as the door opened.

He’s tall Ambrose found themselves thinking (mind you, everyone was tall to Ambrose - they were only 96cm).

They waved their greeting, hiding behind their plushy. Their nose twitched, taking in his scent as they shuffled a little closer.

They chuffed, craning their neck to looking up at him and returning his smile, if a little shy. His energy was warm, inviting. Ambrose was just as curious about him as he seemed of them.

Ambrose sneezed, shaking their head so their ears flapped.

"hello," they mumbled, barely loud enough to hear.

the ghoul asked, opening his eyes and letting go of the door to crouch in front of Ambrose so they could see and hear him better.

Neptune was much taller than Ambrose, being over three feet taller than him.

(Neptune is 6'5, which i headcanon as an average height for ghouls, but obviously theres exceptions to that like Mist being significantly shorter than the other bandmates and Omega and Mountain being taller :])

“Hello,” Ambrose mumbled again, no less shy than before. It was the only word they knew that wasn’t a handful of name.

Ambrose held out their bat plushy in a bid to say ‘look what I have!” Watching this new ghoul for his reaction as they swayed on the spot.

“Am.” They chirruped more resolutely, pointing at themself. It was the little of their name they could say.

the water ghoul let out a small, muffled giggle at the ghoul (obviously not because he was making fun of them, he just thought they were cute), his tail wagging against the ground.

"alright Am...are you finding your way around The Ministry well..?"

he asked, while he didnt like making his voice lighter as he feared it made him sound feminine, he still did it to hopefully not intimidate the smaller ghoul.

Ambrose nodded, a grin breaking out across their face.

To answer his question even further, they began chittering and chirruping away. Though it was no more than gibberish noises, they were actually telling him about everything so far — all about their summoning, Eef helping them adjust Topside, Rus and Mu-Lu’s kindness, meeting Phan and realising that there were many quintessence ghouls in this pack (they were no longer an outlier!), Moo being a gentle giant and Rayee being their favourite.

They’d just about finished telling him everything when it dawned on them that he probably couldn’t understand a word they were saying.

And Ambrose fell quiet again.
