        the mission had gone the opposite direction from what peggy had hoped.  they had found themselves surrounded by HYDRA agents. all weapons pointed towards both herself and the captain by her side,  brows frowned as she started down the barrel that was pointing towards the man beside her,  her teeth had started to grit as her hand raised towards them,   only to distract them as her other hand began to lower towards the gun strapped to her side.   but before the agent had a chance to grab a hold of her weapon,  there was a loud bang,  she couldn’t pin-point where from.   quickly peggy moved, grabbing a hold of the captain and pressing her frame against his,   before screaming out in agonizing pain as the bullet ripped through layers of her skin.

        hands gripped onto his shoulders as she fell against him,   eyes widened and her chest starting to rise & fall faster than it was both.  her knuckles were turning white as she kept a hold of him. even with a bullet inside her,   peggy found herself looking up at him with a small smirk on her face,   but eyes were already watering.        ❝ ...i’ve got you... ❞        she softly whispered before another bang was heard,   the agent gritting her teeth harder and tried not to scream,  eyes watering more and her knees becoming weak under her.
