Hello I haven’t talked much about him in a while but Amelarius’s journey, especially how his appearance has changed so much is a very important part of him.
I’m comparing his look that we all know and love, which he’s had from saplinghood, to how he looks post EoD in the edit above (respectively of course). Amel’s struggled a lot with how he views himself, from originally being so self centered and insecure, to a guy who learned over time to love himself and his body.
Throughout the story his appearance changes the most out of the commanders, as he becomes more confident he starts playing with his hair more and grows it out. Then later on he’s branded as Aurene’s champion and his hair and glow become a shifting pink/purple, and he grows little crystal blooms on his body (that Thalys likes to mess with). He’s always just been naturally very thin but Amelarius also had a hard time eating enough during his commander duties, usually opting for small and unsatisfying food. Eating was just a maintenance task for him until much later in his life, when his commander duties were coming to an end. By EoD he’s started actually enjoying good food and gains some tummy. He was a little self conscious about it at first until he realized he’d actually been feeling better about himself since gaining some weight! He’s slowing down and finally getting to enjoy life alongside his dearheart.
