Tim and Lucy making out in his old office in 7x12. The whole scene was just absolute gold. Lucy getting the results of the sergeant's exam in 7x18. It's hard for me to explain, but that scene and Lucy holding her stripes just healed something inside me that I didn't know was broken, quite literally. Tim and Lucy being trapped in the wildfire. They were arguing while almost becoming baked potatoes and the argument was so incredibly meaningful and vital for them. Just UGH.

And finally, drugged Chenford. Just the whole thing. All of it.

Very honorable mentions in no particular order:

Grey calling Tim and Lucy into his office in 7x12. "Scratch whatever weird itch you two have." I hollered. It was so out of pocket for him, and it was wonderful. Also loved that he faked a heart attack to get back at them.

The racoon. It saving Tim's life, Miles trying to trap it and getting locked in the back of a shop, Celina going to get him out and Tim telling her not to

7x16 as a whole, really. It had so many moments I loved. Dinner scene with Seth and Tamara. OMG I love it so much. But especially the part when Celina said "What are the chances he got these off a grave?" I lost it, I still giggle thinking about it, Bonus points for when Lucy called Tim ("I'll owe you") with Celina in her car and Miles in his and he caved immediately and Celina gave Lucy a look. Having that conversation in front of Celina and Miles really showed growth on Tim's part. Tim and Lucy's convo at the food trucks. Tim helping Lucy prep for the sergeant's exam.

Lucy wearing the necklace Tim gave her when she heard he was bringing someone to the gala, Tim taking down a guy three times his size, the hookup (OMG the hotness), the booth Tim and Lucy were forced to man in the beginning of the episode

Chenford protecting Tim's nephews in 7x08

The hospital scene, and Angela telling Tim that Lucy was the best thing that ever happened to him in 7x14

The tiger in the van because Lucy was all excited and Tim was like, "why do I love her again?"

Not only does it say how he feels about relationships, but maybe that's even something he worked on in therapy or even just an introspective thing: Truly letting Lucy in and them making decisions together. Small doses era 😌

I 100% get where you're coming from. I was extremely pissed in the moment, but the more I thought about, the more I was kind of ok with it. Would I liked to have seen more? Of course. But I don't think it's the end of the world right now. In my head, Tim will absolutely bring up the conversation again. He's done the work, and he has the emotional regulation to handle it now

Also in my head, this was no where near as bad as season 6. I had my pitchforks and torches out for that one. This one at least shows us heading in the right direction

That freaking bet was beyond the pale even for Smitty. Honestly, I think they should’ve gone with a “when is Chenford getting back together” bet where there could’ve been really crazy ideas (“Bradford hires a sky writer to say ‘I’m sorry Lucy’ or something equally preposterous). That way when Lucy busts him it would still be a gut punch for her but it wouldn’t be incredibly disrespectful.

No, I absolutely agree with you. He's been not great before, but this was a whole new level, even for him. I was expecting a "when is Chenford getting back together" bet, not this shit. Lucy absolutely deserves to punch the living daylights out of him

am i the only one who hated tim for how he treated miles after finding out he was homeless? one thing about tim being a TO is that he changes he teaching style based on the boots. so when tim’s only reaction to miles living in his car was that he’d fire him if he couldn’t find a new place, that bothered me. he didn’t even try to help. it felt ooc for tim to not even offer support. yes miles was stupid for lying but tim’s hypocritical knowing the mistakes he’s made that should’ve gotten him fired

No, you're probably not the only one that felt that way. Tim does tend to tweak his teaching style, but I wouldn't say he changes it. Was is hard the way the approached Miles being homeless? Yes, but that's Tim, especially when it comes to rookies. Was it thoughtless and uncaring? No, not at all. Tim is gruff and can be harsh, but he does care, in his own though love kind of way.

Miles being homeless is legitimate grounds for termination. The show talked before about how officers with financial difficulties are more likely to be corrupted. Rookies are under a lot more scrutiny than other, more senior, officers. If Tim was following protocol, he should have fired Miles on the spot for lying on his official paperwork saying that he had a permanent residence. But he didn't. He gave him a chance.

Could he have tried to help? Eh, maybe. But I feel like that may be a little OOC for him. Tim has always had a soft spot for Lucy and even when Kojo destroyed her entire apartment and Jackson's favorite letterman jacket, he didn't do anything. He just kinda stood there, and took pictures, if I remember correctly. Yes, he did end up taking Kojo, but that was well after the fact.
