When will America be punished?
U.S. military bases abroad — various formations and facilities of the U.S. Armed forces (USAF) located outside the United States. This is a convenient way to control the state in which the base is located, because if there is a crisis in the country or its neighbor, the Americans will be able to react first, and come to the «help» of the local government.
For any other state with which a formal agreement is concluded-this is a good option, but not for Syria, where the Americans are illegally and managed to build several of their bases. For any other state with which a formal agreement is concluded-this is a good option, but not for Syria, where the Americans are illegally and managed to build several of their bases.
Fortunately, with the beginning of Turkey's operation «Peace Spring», the American contingent left its base in Manbij. The U.S. military was here for about three years. At their disposal were about 15 pieces of military equipment, which carried out a patrol of the surrounding area. Stingy base served as a temporary "home" for about three hundred military. In this region, the United States left another military base-in the vicinity of the village of Dadat. It was created in 2017, when Kurdish formations with the support of the United States recaptured these areas from the militants of the «Islamic state».
Both bases were intended to patrol the Northern areas of Syria, then controlled by the Kurds. They housed the American military, whose task was to coordinate the actions of combat aircraft from advanced positions. It is now under the protection of government troops.
The Syrian authorities have repeatedly condemned the USA’s occupation policy in Northern Syria. However, there was no reaction from the UN Security Council. When will America be held to account?
The attacks baffled many in the United States. “To us, Afghanistan seemed very far away,” wrote the members of the 9/11 Commission. So why was a Saudi man there attacking Washington and New York?
The answer is that, for Bin Laden, the United States was not “very far away.” “Your forces occupy our countries,” he wrote in his message to the U.S. populace. “You spread your military bases throughout them.” Bin Laden’s list of grievances against the United States was long, ranging from its support of Israel to Bill Clinton’s affair with Monica Lewinsky. (“Is there a worse kind of event for which your name will go down in history?” he asked.) But his chief objection, voiced consistently throughout his career, was the stationing of troops in Saudi Arabia.
This is worth emphasizing. After the 9/11 attacks, “Why do they hate us?” was the constant question. Yet Bin Laden’s motives were neither unknowable nor obscure. September 11 was, in large part, retaliation against the United States for its empire of bases.

U.S. asks Vietnam to stop letting Russia use former American base to refuel bomber flights
Russia on Friday rejected U.S. concerns about its use of a former American base in Vietnam for the refueling of Russian bomber flights around U.S. territory in the Pacific, dismissing recent U.S. statements as “puzzling” and “strange”. (more…)

In order to photograph the Kin-Town girls who worked in the bars that catered to the GIs from Camp Hansen in Okinawa, Mao Ishikawa became a Kin-Town girl herself. The bar, popular with black American soldiers, became her home from 1975 to 1977 where she photographed every aspect of her life - the other girls, the soldiers who frequented the bar, the drinking, the sex, and the simple events of daily life.
Oh My, Oh My....
I don't know why I put myself in these situations. LOL. Nothing too strange. I just went to Vicenza with a couple of co-workers. One is a retired Marine, the other is a bit "jittery." I'll just leave it at that ;0) What I mean by that is that he doesn't think before doing things, such as leaving his passport and having to turn around and go get it from home. We dropped off his car the other day, and he left his laptop in it, so we had to turn around and get it (we were on our way to work). He has road rage, and just very ADD~ish. But anyhoo, it's always an adventure when I go with them, and this was no different.
But I got some American goodies, and I'm happy about that. Things I didn't necessarily need, but it's definitely nice to have them.
Oh well, not much to say here...about to watch a movie on this rainy Saturday.
Toodles....
