10/7/13: Fall Cleaning...

It’s raining and I have the day off, so I finally decided to clear out my wardrobe. As a culture, we generally have this thing called Spring Cleaning. The only issue is, that for guys, Spring isn’t the best season for us to do this. For Women, Spring is about breaking out dresses, and wearing lighter fabrics, but for guys Spring ain’t so easy. Fall is really the time for a guy’s style to shine. We get a chance to break our favorite pair of boots and it’s finally cold enough to wear a suit. As I have mentioned before, the golden rule is, if you haven’t worn it for a year, it’s got to go. So while you may think that you love this or that shirt, if you haven’t worn it in over a year, you probably don’t like it as much as you think. And as I go through my wardrobe in it’s entirety, I’ve realized that while I’m on my way, I still have more to go on creating the ideal wardrobe.

So feel free to check out that closet of yours and do a little Fall Cleaning. Trim the fat, bring it back to basics, you’re probably gonna wear your favorite articles anyways, so why not just get rid of what you don’t need. But don’t just trash em, find a decent place to drop them off. I’m actually handing my stuff down to a buddy of mine, and then the rest is headed to Housing Works. Salvation Army has some pretty strict ideals about who they help so I try not to donate to them, but generally speaking there are some great places to drop your things to, or places you can even make a few bucks for your used goods.
